So what are your thoughts on Janis Timma?
It looks like he had a decent Eurobasket and was at least consistent.
Is he part of the magic's future?

I don't know what to make of this guy. He seems like could make the team as 12th man but I don't expect much. Could he have been a diversion to get another team to take Porz?

I remember when he played with the Grizzlies Summer League team last year and he looked horrendous.
He just could not handle the fast-paced defense and rotations. He's a quick guy for an SF, but his lateral movement was bad. Smaller guys were driving past him with ease.

Between then, his '14-'15 club season, and this EuroBasket, he looks a lot more mobile. His weakness was his defense, but not in this tournament. Janis did well on both ends. He's 23, so there's plenty of room still for him to develop his talents and his body. He can play off the ball or with it in his hands (not as well as Fournier, but it's passable against other forwards). Wasn't afraid to bang around in the paint with much bigger guys. Rebounded well. He's kind of like Fournier and Hezonja in that their shot doesn't have to be dropping for them to be contributing. In games he didn't get up a lot of shots, that was due to defenses focusing in on him and Latvia just rolling with it and letting him be a decoy. Strong dunker, very confident in the open court. Has the hair of Brek Shea and the tattoos of AK47. He'd be a cult hero here real quick.

His hard work has really paid off. Signed a 2-year deal with Zenit St. Petersburg, so he's leaving the Latvian league for the first time ever. I don't know if he has a buyout for the summer of 2016, but he's honestly earned at least a Summer League and/or training camp look with the Magic. It obviously won't be in the next few weeks, but I'd be surprised if the Magic didn't give him a strong chance in the future. No reason why he can't be at least an 11th or 12th guy off the bench.

Not bad for a throw-in to dump Ridnour.

Your typical euro prospect. Gain the rights and bring him over in a few years if he's ever ready. Doesn't hurt to just have the rights and let him keep doing his thing in Europe. A lot of Euros come over in their mid-late 20s, since he's young it makes sense to acquire that kind of talent and just keep an eye on him.

Also could be used as trade fluff in the future if need be.
