I know he didn't invent it, but I've always associated the step back jumper with Paul Pierce

Pierce enter the league in 1998. The video shows that Jordan's been doing it since 95 or earlier

I don't know who invented it, but being a Bullets fan growing up, Archie Clark was proficient at the step-back back in the day.
