.@OrlandoMagic G/F @EvanFourmizz hurt his ankle on Fri while scoring 22 pts, but vowed he's definitely playing on Sun vs. @chicagobulls

John Denton ‏
.@OrlandoMagic coach SSkiles not happy how team changed style when game got tight. Lots of passing, cutting in 1st 3 Qs. Apprehensive in 4th

Head coach Scott Skiles put his team thru a film session with 70 clips.

``When we posed the question today of who was guarding (Westbrook) it was dead silence,’’ Skiles said of a candid moment inside the film session. ``We attempted to make an adjustment on the high-pick-and-roll with Westbrook but we got a lot of blank stares and 1,000-yard stares and didn’t do it. We weren’t there at that moment and either got caught up in our shots not going in or things that you can’t do.

``We’ve got to get to a position where it’s not, `Hey, we did a lot of good things and we took a step forward. And we almost beat Oklahoma City,’^’’ Skiles said with stern seriousness. ``We have to get legitimately angry about it, take some action and do something about it. Be more in-tuned with the game, be in your spots, set your screens and do your job.’’

``We’re not going to relent off our message. The tape doesn’t lie,’’ Skiles said of continuing to hold players accountable for their actions. ``They’ve been good at looking at it and responding when we’re talking about it, but at some point it has to translate out onto the game floor. What we’ve encountered in these two games also happened in the exhibition season. We’d be up 15 and the other team would make a run and we’d slow down.

``We can look at it now and say, `Well, we should be 2-0.’ But there are too many things going on long term that need to be corrected,’’ Skiles stressed. ``Even if we were 2-0 we would have looked at the same 70 clips, talked about (the mistakes) and not focused so much on the result. … We haven’t reacted poorly, but we haven’t reacted great, either.’’

Josh Robbins
In close games, Magic players said they have to start thinking about "playing to win" instead of "playing not to lose."

Great thread! I hope we play angry today and get ourselves a good win. Stay the course as Skiles is stating and do not play scared. We have to take care of the boards and finish defensive possessions better. I can't wait for this game to start...LET'S GET IT!!!

A win with Strong performances from T12, AG, and Hezonja would make me happy.

Orlando matches up really nicely versus Chicago, I'm not worried about this game. Play Magic basketball and we'll take this win!

I thought those Skiles quotes from the interview today were enlightening about where this team is at the moment.

Just saying, D-Rose should sit out tonight, he's got a bad injury history against us.

Start Gordon bring Evan off the bench. This is starting to get silly, we need his versatility out there.

Skiles- "The thing we need to look at is that our guards, if they're in the paint and don't make it or don't get fouled, it is in effect, a turnover."

Or something like that. I feel pretty good with Skiles as coach tbh. He's impressed thus far.

Thank you. Someone who gets it. Fournier in the second unit is fine. As a starter? Hell to the NO.

Has anyone looked at this scrub's numbers? 32% on 14 FGA? A TS of .397?? HAHAHA.

Can't consistently shoot; a pussy when it comes to taking it to the basket - always trying to flop by throwing the goddamn ball away as if he got hit on the hand; an inadequate rebounder for someone his size; defense is just average. No idea what Skiles sees in him. Must be lighting it up in practice or some ****.

Fournier is one of the reasons, among many, why we've lost these past 2 games.

I like Fournier for what he is too. He's just not good enough to be a starter on a team with playoff aspirations.

Guy to watch tonight: McDermott.

He's the prime type of player to light us up out of nowhere.

Wait, I thought you were talking about Oladipo there at first until the rebounds. I just looked it up. Both Oladipo and Fournier are shooting 32% and have a TS of 39%. Interesting. Well, at least Fournier's getting fouls.
