How would you feel if the Magic targeted Dwight Howard in FA? He has a player option that would make him an UFA this summer.

Bemused, more than anything. Don't get me wrong, the man is still a force when he's healthy (back to that point in a second), and I look back on his time here (save for the last year) as some of my favourite basketball memories. On a personal level I have no animosity towards him and wouldn't rule him out based on his throwing his toys from the pram on his way out of Florida.
Problem is he'll be 30 in free agency and he's had injury issues pretty much every season since his last one in Orlando, including back troubles. I think the risk outweighs the reward.

There are no words strong enough in the English language to describe my dislike for Coward Howard. He epitomises everything I hate about sports, people and money in one go. If he came back to Orlando, I would literally never watch another Magic game in my life.

PR would take care of the return. For me, it would depend on the contract. I wouldn't want to hand out a massive long-term deal to him as I don't trust his back/knees...

He's not good enough to justify the money he's going to command, so no.

Nah. Not anything personal against him, but we easily had the best version of Dwight and I'd kind of like to keep it that way and not tarnish it with what he is now and how much he'll continue to fall off. Not only that, but he's just hard to watch these days. You still get the maddening dumb fouls which seem to have increased as his athleticism has declined, but you don't really get the jaw dropping plays to make up for it anymore. And he's just too whiney.

Hypothetically, I too would be concerned with how Howard will age.
That being said, I don't ever want to see him in a Magic uniform again.
He obviously is still is an effective presence though.

I wouldn't have any problem on a personal level. I thought he tried too hard to take the high road when he promised to stay, and he ultimately couldn't stand by his commitment as result, but I can't blame him for leaving.
On a practical level, my lack of NBA game-watching leaves me ignorant of what Dwight would add to this team compared to our other bigs.

Put simply, hes a terrible human being and we are trying to build our team on a foundation of good values and high character. He doesn't fit at all.

By the time we'd go after him he'd be waaaayyyy past his prime. It would most likely be a depth signing unless something happens to Vucevic during that time period.

I have no problem with us targeting him in FA.

No thanks. I think he is one of the most overrated players in the history of the game as far as stars go.

I'll trade and/or sign whomever it will take for us to celebrate an Orlando Magic championship down Orange Ave. I don't care if it's Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, Tracy McGrady, or Reece Gaines. All I care about is wins. If Howard can help us get to the finals again, I say do it.
The contract also needs to be a decent one.

Is Dwight going to play PF on our team? Targeting him makes no sense roster wise. Also as some had said, his athleticism is starting to fade and the injuries are starting to pile up for him. I think he stays in Houston anyways.

I would never watch a game he was in, nor attend. If he was hurt, i'd go back to watching every second of every game, and attending every game i'm available for. I hate Howard so much that I can't put it into words. If you intentionally try to ruin a franchise that was great to you, and the entire City, you are something that the word hate needs a stronger meaning for.

He would be a decent backup for Vuc, not sure he would earn mins over Dedmond though

I would definitely welcome him back. He should still have another 3-4 good years left. He's actually playing well so far this year.
