millsap didn't sign here? I personally think we easily would've been top 6 in the East.

More relevant to our current team...

Weren't we offering $20mil/yr for Millsap? So we saved $4mil/yr by ending up with Tobias.

I'm kind of disappointed because I'm not sure any of our guys are going to break out into major stars. If we're going to grind with Skiles, we might as well do it with another good veteran.

It would have been nice for the next year or two, but I think it was probably for the best because of the contract length and his age. I also think it's a good thing because max contract veterans like Milsaps are great additions for teams that are ready to really compete, and I think this team needs another year like this to work out those bad habits and become a good squad on their own. Everyone is still very young, and haven't tasted any sort of success. Give them a year with Skiles and hopefully this team will grow and maybe even get some playoff experience, so that when this team does bring in those last few pieces of the puzzle, they won't waste their time trying to get over the past 3 years of Vaughn.

Might be better we didn't get Millsap if my 5-year running dream of Al Horford finally comes to fruition next year. Then, you can talk about being more than just a 6-seed. I think we have a pretty solid shot if we finish .500. A nice pitch can be made for Horford to return to sunny Florida.

I think you guys need to be patient. With Harris we can make the playoffs this year, if not we wont miss it by much. Going forward its better to have Harris in his mid 20's than Millsap past 30.

Milsap would have only been a quick patch to the disaster that was last season.
Skiles is revealing that there is a lot of untapped talent and skill sets on this roster. Watching Vuc defend this year is like night and day - he doesn't even look like the same player. Tobias' rebounding and intangibles are massively improved. Even Frye is revealing a whole new intensity...and on down the line
I'm glad the Milsap deal fell through, now there can be a real assessment of what this roster has and RH can make adjustments in the offseason where and if its needed.

No, not really. Re-signing Tobias was a good move, and his declining salary over the last couple of years of his deal will be a huge benefit when the time comes to re-up some of our other guys and go after external free agents. Millsap would have been a nice signing but he's not the kind of player that you have sleepless nights over missing out on. I'm happy to see Harris and Gordon developing at the forward spots.

Definitely, and we sign Tobias.
Jason Smith would have been the guy left off the roster, not Tobes.
Elf, Dipo, Tobias, Millsap, Vuc... knowing the impact that Skiles is having that would be a very nice team.

Oh wow, completely slipped my mind... That makes it even more sweet. I feel like I am a failed fan now... Shame on me. Thanks for pointing that out, that makes that dream so much better.

Why would we be?
I don't think anyone really expected an All-Star/Star quality player to come here. Especially after how bad the team was last year.
This team is young, in a developmental phase, and VERY INEXPERIENCED. A Guy like Millsap wouldn't want to waste the last few years of his prime/career on a team that's 3-4 years away from really competing.
