The 2016 draft is a Big man and PGs draft..
After watching some of those Prospects scouting reports and highlights on YouTube, I'll say that this draft is no weak draft as some reports make us to believe ..
the top 10-12 prospects can in fact go toe to toes with the ones from this year, except that KAT is on another level..

Honestly, if we were to go top 5 this year, I would go with Jaylen Brown as our SG even though he is listed as a 6^7 SF, but he has the frame to play the SG.. He reminds me of T mac..

Since we not going to be in play to go that high, let's being realistic.
The magic will be in play to pick its player between the 10th and the 15th pick for sure.

What type of player we need and/or what position does our team need to cover mostly?
To me, the type of player that our team needs regardless of position (except maybe at center) is a go to player.. A player who can help us keeping a lead or regain one especially late in games with his scoring prowess; cause so far that's our biggest issue.. but unfortunately, we not in any position to get such a player in the draft since we'll be out of that range.

The position we desperately need to cover is PF. It would be nice to have a stable 2 way PF.

Here are the players that will be available around our spot.. possibly. .

My favorite player (at our range) and the perfect fit for us would be Ivan Rabb..

But there is a really high chance he will go in the top 8 range. .

Ivan Rabb(18)___________PF. 6'10 _ 7.1 wingspan ______type= 2 way
Cheick Diallo(19)________PF. 6'9 _ 7.4 wingspan _______type= defense anchor. Improve jump shot
Henry Ellenson(18)______PF. 6'10 _ 7.2 wingspan ______type= offense
Diamond Stone(18)_____ PF/C. 6'9 _ 7.4 wingspan _____type= defense anchor. Improve post & jump shot
Thomas Bryant(18)_____ C/PF. 6'10_ 7.5 wingspan ____type= improve defense. Improve post & jump shot

While it is still very early, the East is looking like it has gotten deeper. The top teams are still the top teams but now teams like NYK, DET, and CHA look to have a better shot than us at making the playoffs. IMO, the 7th and 8th seeds will be a battle between 7 teams...which I include us in...but at the very bottom of the list.

This will still be a fun season to watch with some notable progress an improvement...but I still see us finishing with 32-36 wins and a pick between 6-10.

Way too early to start thinking about the draft, especially with how our team has improved this year. Looking at our roster though, I think Hennigan (assuming he goes for need) will be targeting a more traditional-bodied PF to replace Nicholson (who I think will be gone) and to provide an extra wrinkle to the squad when we don't want to go small-ball.

Right now, I put Henry Ellenson #1 for us considering where I think we'll be drafting. Not the sexiest player, but I love his game.

I'm a fan of Damian Jones too. Henny has shown a tendency towards highly athletic, yet raw prospects. Jones fits that mold, but also has improved over the years too. Is a Junior this year and we also know Henny likes upperclassmen too (Nicholson, O'Quinn, Oladipo, Payton). Also, Dragan Bender has the chance to go #1 overall.

I wouldn't be upset if we drafted either Henry Ellenson, Damian Jones, or Ivan Rabb. Another idea we can do is try to get Terrence Jones from the rockets to solve our power forward problems!

Hello really good post.
I think we have to add a big men.
My favorite is stephen zimmerman who will play for unlv.very mobile 7footer who plays the 4 and 5.good offense and defense.scoring, rebounding and rim protection.

It is indeed way to early to talk about the draft. But since we are, I agree Orlando might look to its bench depth at PF. An undersized / wide PF might very well be the way to go. Here Kansas' big Cheick Diallo could be an interesting target. Gonzaga's Domantas Sabonis is another thought.

For Orlando's second round picks, I expect all to be stashed picks of Euro Wünderkinds that cannot come stateside for 2-5 years.

I don't think we should quit on the Pistons after just one bad road trip. :)

sviatoslav mykhailiuk(18)____SG. 6'8_ 6'8 wingspan____type: offense (a more aggressive Hezonja), (this year Fournier defensive style)

I didn't say we should trade Oladipo if he doesn't pan out this year, even though he's been great defensively and will get out of this flunk that he's been offensively nor Harris for this new taller more athletic Fournier out of Kansas come draft night... lol.. no, I didn't say that...
