He is the engine of the team, as soon as they started putting him out there injured the teams overall play started to dip and as a result he has had setbacks because they are rushing him into the lineup.

let him get to 100% this organization has already seen someone's ankles ruin things, they do not need to let it happen again

The worry is how long it will take and can the team recover. I don't want to rush him back either but it hurts to watch this teams piss poor effort every night without him.

Elf has to be more consistent. He has spurts of brilliance but other times he's just out there cruising. Kid is still young but what worries me most is his mentality.

He brings it better than most of our players most nights. He'll be fine. When he's not scoring people act like he isn't bringing it, sometimes he just will have bad scoring nights... as long as he's doing everything else (and free of injuries) he will impact the team.

Didn't skiles say even if elf was healthy Dipo would be playing ahead of him?

He's not even creating for others as well as he did last year(the second half of last year). I think he will eventually turn it up tho. I might not have the sig but I love me some ep. When he's on he's special I'm just asking for a little more consistency

If I remember correctly, Skiles said Dipo would have started regardless of Payton's status. I do not think Skiles ever said that Payton would go to the bench if he was healthy. It was just something that most people interpreted that way. I'm not convinced that is true, it is quite possible that Fournier would have gone to the bench, and starting 5 would be Payton, Oladipo, Harris, Frye, Vooch.

The offense is quite different. I'd prefer the ball to be in his hands more to create since he has great vision. We just pass it around the top of the key and sometimes we'll let him do his thing this year.

I trust Elfrid with the ball in his hands just setting guys up more than I do some of the other stuff we get ourselves into. I feel like the team as a whole moves the ball better when Elfrid is playing. The unselfishness rubs off on them.

Definitely. It also feels like people can get to the rim more if Elf is on the floor. If magic want to run and gun, he's got to be on the floor. If not, that's when we gotta go to our bigs and slow it down. In that regards he is the integral piece of our offense.

Looks at sig.
Other players play just as hard as Elfrid does on most nights. Also, I wish someone would define "we'll be fine." We absolutely need him to do what he does best but this team needs a star if we're serious about winning.

I'm saying for about a month was consistent on defense and offense for our team.. most of our team is either one or the other.. I think the consistency thing is overblown because some low scoring nights (but will do a bunch of other things) and his calm demeanor.. that being said, we obviously need his consistency more than other people so it's magnified on him.. his aggressiveness as well.. simply saying that he's one of the few I know what to expect most nights.. need him healthy.

What he brings is 11 ppg and 6 apg on not very good efficiency. That's it. There is no magic pixie dust that makes those numbers secretly better.

I'll be happy to have him healthy again, but both guard positions have been more bad than good for us on offense this year.

 Fat chance he'd bench Fournier... that's his golden boy. I've never heard Skiles criticize Fournier, have you? Would probably take a lot to bench him...

I agree, Elf is probably our most important player. Without him the other guys just dont look right.

True. Skiles does seem to appreciate Fournier more than most of us do. My point is that we are not sure he meant to bench Payton, it could have been Payton, Fournier, Harris or Frye (unlikely Vooch). If he took out Frye he coudl revert to season starting 5, benching Harris would move Fournier to SF where he played really well, and Oladipo at SG.

But I agree, it is most likely he would have benched Payton (who played worse than usual due to playing through injury). My point is that it wasn't ever explicitly said that Payton would have been benched, at least I did not hear it.

Whether or not he's dropping 11pts, 6asts or 25pts, 12asts a game. The point is, with the team "as constructed now" they're noticeably better when Elfrid is out there. Or are you still waiting for Oladipo to become the better PG?

What evidence do you have to support this statement? I haven't looked at the on/off numbers in a few weeks, but they sure didn't show what that statement would imply last time I checked.
