The Return of Dwight? (Not a Report)

Obviously Trade talks are underway in Houston. I would say with the talent we have Dwight may bring a completely different element to what we have. Defense, boards, and in this scenario we would keep Vucc.

We'll be automatically in contention and one of the biggest teams in the league. With Vucc and his shooting we can spread everyone out and Payton would have a field day. This would put the Magic back on the National scene.

Dwight
Vooch
Fournier (Gordon)
Oladipo
Payton

Watson/Shabazz
KJ/Mario/Fournier
Mario/Fournier/Gordon
Gordon/Frye
Deadman

Just a thought when both the Magic and Rockets can use a change and we can bring Dwight back to where the World loved him. He has been hated for so long he would APPRECIATE it.

Would be the single dumbest move in NBA history, hands down.

As mentioned in another thread - personally, I am for forgiveness, but what can he really do here for us? He's no longer the physical force that could command a double team, is he? With all the stuff he put us through, the Lakers through, and now Houston through, I'm thinking that even his marketability has taken a hit. He no longer has the Adidas endorsement that he tried to leave town for.

With that, I'd say that I won't take him if he's seeking a max contract this summer - cap rising or not. He's just not worth the max anymore. In addition, I take him back ONLY if Vucevic stays from being included in the trade to Houston. Obviously, also no trade with Houston includes Payton, Gordon, or any picks we own. We only pull this deal if those requests can be satisfied AND if we find a good scorer to pair with him.

Exactly, I mean, I think he's barely worth the minimum.

Just think about all the centers in the NBA that are currently healthy that put up better number in him in last year's playoffs... or the 2014 playoffs... Let's see theres.... ummmm. wait, let me think...

Oh, that's right, there is no one.

D12 may not be a fit for us for so many reasons, but those thinking he won't get the max next year (assuming he stays healthy) should take a gander at the numbers he continues to put up...

Please stop with this idea of vucevic as a PF; would be like a suicide against at least 15-20 teams of this league.

however would like a D12 returns(if he is healthy)but do not think he would like to come back and resign with magic.

sure guys let's trade valuable assets for a 30 year old center whos' breaking down and can either
A) Leave us AGAIN
or
B) Have enough leverage to get a max deal

the sentimental bull needs to be put to rest, it's a terrible idea

I knew someone would post this. Honestly, did we not learn from the first time around? If anybody should do a trade is ATL with HOU. Swap Horford for Dwight along with Teague and filler. Hawks should be jumping on this deal.

if Gasol and Zbow can play PF, he wouldnt be totally bad

I think it makes sense to acquire him. Obviously, I hope it doesnt take the whole farm to bring him back.

I still think he is capable of being effective as he once was. The Bigs out west are just too tall for a 6'9" player like him.

He would be alright but I'm not a fan of how injury-prone he's become since. The move doesn't make a ton of sense at this point.

I don't care if Dwight plays like trash during the regular season, if he still produces in the playoffs like he does every year, I will take him.

The problem with Dwight is he has never embraced what would have made him an all time great. Focus on being the best defensive shot blocker and re bounder to ever play the game and stop worrying about being the focal point on offense. His offensive game is average but he thinks that is what made him a "superstar". He made lebron scared to ever take the ball to the basket but DWIGHT doesn't get it.

Good point.

Dwight Howard at this stage of his career does not automatically put the Magic in contention. He's a complimentary piece who does a lot of good things but isn't even an all-star anymore. And he's declining.

This isn't like when Garnett went to the Celtics and brought a tough-nosed, defense-first culture with him. Dwight doesn't strike fear in his opponents the way he did 5-6 years ago. I wouldn't mind one day seeing Dwight finish his career here a la Garnett in Minny, but that's still a couple years (at a much reduced salary) away.

The city of Orlando would not forgive Henny. Keep Blight Coward away.

If henny is doing his job he has to consider it, not sure if the fans would welcome him back though. On the other hand lebron was welcomed back and the way he left was comparable.... It's interesting

nah Lebron was an unrestricted free agent.

Howard was under contract and forced a trade to a destination of his choice and his agent warned any other potential trade partners that DH wouldn't resign - totally destroying any chance of good return....

totally different scenarios
