Happy for you guys. Might offend a lot here, but screw Oladipo, Vuc, Tobes, Fournier... As a fan of basketball I want your team to hand the keys to Mario and AG already. They're so obviously your biggest talents...

How exactly does Gordon's performance in the dunk contest prove he's a future star???
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

We already knew Gordon is super athletic and can jump out of the gym. So nothing new there. It's great for the fans that he's a creative dunker too, but it doesn't help us win games.

What I learned is that Mario has a personality.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.-John 3:16

2014 Rising Stars Game:

Dion Waiters = 31 pts, 7 asts, 3 stl on 71% FG, 67% 3-pt.

Cool down with the future star assumptions based on a fake game.

Amazing dunks.. but it doesn't prove he's a future star.

I don't think this weekends proves anything but I do believe Mario and AG both have the best chance to become our best players and "stars" ! I think if you watch a lot of magic games you already know that Gordon has a big impact on the game , if his shot gets better it's over !!! I believe Mario is going to blow up in the second half ! Either way I think people are going to pay more attention to the magic and it adds a little bit more excitement to our franchise !

Jesus guys. Just enjoy the hype, you don't have to be so eager to pour the cold water. What this weekend DOES show is that both guys have a ton of confidence to go with their athleticism and confidence goes a long way to becoming a star.

Your right ! It's been a long time that we got a couple guys starting to turn heads nationally ! I'm enjoying all the attention the magic are getting and it is getting. Me more hyped for the final 30 games !

I think the dunk contest can assist a player in becoming a star. The past speaks for itself. Not every year of course, but many years it did.

The reason Gordon's performance can somewhat correlate to him one day being a star is because he showed extreme focus and talent under major pressure to nail some of those dunks. Just from a mental perspective, that takes an elite level of focus. And mental focus is a key trait of being a reliable player under pressure in the NBA. Add to the fact that a few of the dunks he did had never been done before and the majority of players could never do them, and I think he really opened some eyes around the NBA.

As did Mario in the rookie game. He was doing some things that were straight up nasty. Taking it to the rim hard past 3 guys..blocking shots..these are things we didn't have on our team until he came to town.

I'm just hoping these strong performances have an impact on free agency. I know it isn't going to alter the decision of a Kevin Durant but if a second tier free agent has the same money coming from multiple teams, hopefully some will like to idea of playing alongside AG and Mario over the next few years.

The dunk contest?and the rookie game?
why any second tier free agent should choose the magic instead other teams, because gordon can dunk really good and hezonja is confident and had a great exibition game?

AG and MH had put on a nice show.

I can't really take anything away from last night except to say "great show".

Let's hope they just start developing sooner rather tan later.

Have you never been to a networking event?

Everyone is half asleep or working on their own stuff during 98% of the talks as they just want to get to happy hour. Who offers those few talks that grab the room and have everyone trying to meet them at the bar that night? Those are the winners of the event. What they spoke about really doesn't matter as much. Who was memorable does.

It is the same thing here only the "happy hour" party after the event was probably far more alive. You don't think stars who otherwise would have offered a "nice job" we're out there wanting to hang out with the hottest buzzing name in basketball last night? Who knows what bonds were formed over many, many, many shots of tequila.

Said it in a post when we drafted AG and ill say it again. Hes gonna be a star for us.

The feedback hes getting from last nights dunk off will increase his confidence. Hes firmly on everyones radar now after last night. The growth from last season in terms of his shooting is brilliant and he will only get better. If that draft was done again hed go number 2.

He will have breakout season next year you watch guys.

Yep, it was neat seeing Gordon go out there and act like a superstar, even though most of the crowd and viewers watching at home knew little about him and otherwise wouldn't have cared about him. By the end of it, he had everyone in the palm of his hand.

It could amount to nothing, or it could show how he handles himself under pressure. Either way, it was a great showing, and a nice boost for the Orlando Magic on a national stage.
