Hell no. Shaq is back on the sh#@ list after robbing AG.

Highly unlikely on both. You don't get a statue without a ring, nor do you get a statue after playing the franchise fot a bunch of fools. Orlando is a pretty nice spot. Unfortunately, it takes people coming here and then leaving (often on bad terms) to see that.

If he won us our first championships like he did with the heat, then he'd get retired... but he didn't.

Not a chance in hell. He torched the bridge on the way out town and didn't do enough to deserve the honor.

Only spent 4 years here and didn't win a title. He was a big part of our early years, but left way too early and did so in terrible fashion.

People don't immediately think 'Milwaukee Bucks' when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is mentioned, but he spent 6 seasons there and won a championship. Shaq's Orlando days pale in comparison.

I don't think we'll retire Dwight's jersey either, unless something major happened like he came back for the last few years of his career, mentored a young, rising center, and was an integral bench piece on a championship team. It would have to be something like that, where he endeared himself to the fans again and ended up with 10+ total seasons with the Magic.

I certainly don't agree with every message the corporate arm of the Magic puts out but in this case I think they have it absolutely right.

Alex Martins has said the team has a criteria that has to be met before retiring jersey numbers and whilst he hasn't gone into detail it's safe to assume that winning a championship is one of the prerequisites.

If Shaq gets his jersey retired then I assume so should Penny, Nick, T-Mac, Dwight, Jameer, Rashard, Hedo...maybe even Darrell Armstrong.

F*** no! Orlando should not retire Shaq's number.

My vote goes to retiring number 8 in honor of the great Channing Frye

I was against putting him in the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame.

The guy bolted this team and it was torture watching him win championships in L.A. and worse off in Miami.

He also left this team high and dry.

At least, Dwight Howard let The Magic know he was leaving and they were able to get a nice return in Nikola Vucevic, Elfrid Payton, Evan Fournier (they got him for Arron Afflalo) and a future first from The Lakers.

I hope no owner in the future EVER retires Shaq's number.

Dwight should absolutely have his jersey retired. I get it, people hate how he was off the court and how he left, a total D-bag, no denying that. but If you judge him on what he did on the court he's clearly the main player in magic history. Shaq was the best ever but didn't play long enough for the magic. Dwight played many seasons for us like 9ish and holds major record for us. Points, Rebs, blocks, minutes, etc and he was defensive player of the year several times while playing with us and a legit MVP Canadate for us.
