Parsons coming home?

Says we are the biggest threat for Parsons. Makes sense. Orlando kid who always wanted to play for Orlando. I think he is to loyal to Cuban though. Even though Carlise has been iffy on him. He is playing the best ball of his career right now.

Am I down for CP? Of course. An Orlando kid who was a Gator star. Nothing but love from me. I thought going after him the last time he was a FA was smarter. Not sure about this time around. Would like to see Mario get a chance.

Seems like signing him would just create the same logjam problem we had with Harris. Probably mean no Evan back or trading someone else.

Although a small ball lineup of
Payton
Vic
Mario/evan
Parsons
AG

That's intriguing. Bigger than GS small ball but less shooting. Don't think they just throw vuc out either.

OKC and Billy D might leapfrog us if KD leaves.

Don't know what do you all think about going after CP? Hate it? Love it? Indifferent?

Obviously the huge ? is what kinda deal he'd get. He got 3/45 before, not sure what it'd take to get him now.

Him and AG would compliment each other pretty nicely. Parsons a much better shooter but also a capable defender and a decent athlete. Good size too from the forward spot.

I guess it depends if management wants to keep playing Gordon at the 4.

It was mentioned in another thread but why would Parsons opt out of his contract? It is basically the perfect storm of bad timing for Parsons to opt out.

On that same page (above linked) there is a piece on Oscar calling out Curry. The video is mostly Curry shredding us and how absurd it is to guard Curry. Interesting to watch/listen to.

Regarding Parsons: Meh, he's a nice player, but not a game changers. I'd be ok either way.

Parsons will get a max....just going to be the nature of contracts this summer.

But I agree with someone above...No reason to have parsons and fournier.

Not much interest with Fournier/Hezonja already on the roster.

Get rid of Fournier and make CP the lynchpin of this franchise. He'll get a max deal and he deserves it. And he's the kind of guy that will bring other talent here.

Very convenient piece for a Dallas writer with the Magic in town tonight. Isola used to push those "Knicks want Tobias" rumors every time the Magic were visiting New York. I don’t buy this as anything more than speculation at all.

If we had any interest in a guy like Chandler Parsons we would have simply kept Tobiss Harris.

The cap is going to skyrocket next year. Read 20 teams will have max capabilities. He is playing the best stretch of ball in his career at 27. Not too mention in my eyes not a deep Free Agent class, top heavy. Makes sense to opt out to me.

I think we don't need him here if we keep Fournier but even if we pursue him,why would we give him the max? Henny specifically said we will try our best not to overpay and giving the guy who is currently averaging 13.3 points is the definition of overpaying.

The cap is going to spike each of the next two seasons before (hopefully) leveling out.

Guys like Lebron or possibly even Durant are expected to sign one year deals with players options for more so they can opt out in 2017 for even more.

For a guy like Parsons who doesn't have the leverage of a Lebron, it might make sense to wait one more year when ALL contracts are even higher and grab a long term deal. Then again, how much money does a young guy really need? Grabbing the money while its on the table might be too good to pass on.

Chandler is ridiculously better than Tobias from three

I don't want this bum anywhere near the Orlando roster.

It's bad enough I have to suffer him here in Dallas. At least my home town team can avoid this box-score fantasy player who lacks impact on real games.

That's a tough question, but it's almost the nature of the climate so to speak.....there is going to be so much money to throw around players that normally wouldn't get anywhere near a max deal will this time around. I like him because he's a good player and seems to be a team player he seems like he'll play within the offense and will let it come to him. I would love to bring in more guys that would be more about the team rather than themselves.

I agree about the positives he would bring but I don't think he would be that much of an upgrade over Fournier to justify giving him the max. If we are going to overpay someone,I would much rather choose a guy who will fix the hole on our roster instead of improving the position we are already good at.

You talking about Tobias right?

The cap will be even higher two summers from now. He is already scheduled to make 16 million next year...he isn't going to get much more than that on the open market. He is playing a nice stretch right now but overall, this season has been one of his worst and injury riddled. His stock would be much higher after a consistent and injury free season.
