The Case to START Brandon Jennings

We are playing 500 inconsistent at best basketball right now. I propose we shake it up. Brandon Jennings needs to be free. Having his talent on the bench and potentially then have him leave for nothing makes me think of Gilbert Arenas and how we didn't see any changes in our team. Let's put our best Offensive unit out there with Aaron cleaning up the boards.
The Magic need a spark. Start Jennings and let him play his game. EP did nothing wrong but in a PG saturated league we need BJ in there to set the pace and tone. EP can still play good minutes (25-30) interchanging between the 1 and 2 positions mostly a 2 as a slasher and defensive hawk. Him playing with the second unit can also have them push and move the ball more being that everyone in that lineup is a shooter.
We NEED A CHANGE.

You might have a case if Jennings wasn't sucking so badly... 28% fg / 28% 3pt in his last 7 games playing 15 mpg (Elfrid in his last 7: 11.6 pts on 50% fg / 46% 3pt and 8.4 ast). I'm really not interested in seeing Jennings take more shots until he stops taking bad shots. What's with him feeling the need to fadeaway or lean heavily to the side on wide open shots anyway? I thought SVG reigned him in a bit? Is he resorting to knucklehead Jennings under Skiles?

Jennings is probably my least favorite player on the team. He is what he is. A small, extremely inefficient PG who offers nothing on defense and has consistently made questionable decisions during his stint here.

It's hard to do anything when you play a little under 14 minutes a game. Thats basically one quarter. How is that giving us a chance to see what he can do?? Him coming back when CJ was coming back was just bad luck.

Look at his career stats that I just posted. THIS IS Brandon Jennings.

15 minutes is two quarters unless you're fournier or oladipo. We have years of stats showing jennings is an inefficient scorer. Do you honestly think he can show us much this season anyway? He missed so much time due to a major injury... probably won't return to form with impressive 37-39% fg% until next season.......

The Brandon Jennings that was seen in the Detroit scheme had a phenomenal coach AND a good system which amplified his abilities (Though he was never that good to begin with). You put him on a team that is sub par from a Coaching and Roster standpoint and you have this guy. Plus, he's coming off a severe injury and he's in the prime of his career. The trajectory of improvement from this guy is minimal at best.
He is what he is at this point, and him starting will not help this team improve.

I personally thought he'd be better than he is, but there is no way he should start over Payton. This team needs a starting caliber PG next season but Jenning's definitely isn't that.

This thread is odd because BJ has been HORRIBLE. Like if he was coming off the bench and scoring an efficient 10-15 points a night I'd say... sure let's think about it, but he's not close to that.

Orlando needs a massive upgrade within the PF rotation and we get a thread about the Magic's deepest spot. Hmm.

He menaged to make Napier look like great option. Him and Watson are one of reasons why we lost vs Suns. Dude is unplayable, just usless. Shoots around 30% overall, can't penetrate, can't defend, can't shoot
How about :" Case to cut Brandon Jennings"

Jennings/Oladipo/Fournier/Vucevic. I can imagine the ball movement (or lack of it) now. We should be slowly increasing the role of Gordon, not decreasing it. He barely sees the ball now, if he had to play alongside those guys... yikes.

Watching Vuc and Fournier buddyball that ignores Gordon and Hezonja is painful.

I am all for it in starting Brandon Jennings. It can help us go under .300 the rest of the way so we can move up on our odds for this year lotto position. Maybe, we can grab that 7 spot.

He's not a starting caliber PG in the NBA. His numbers speak for themselves.

how is it the deepest? just because we have more bodies? it definitely isnt the deepest talent wise.
and there is NO case to start Jennings. zero. not right now.
