Are the Magic currently Tanking?

Skiles coaches good while playing Brandon Jennings while trying to win at Golden State which is about impossible then benches players that might get him a victory and does sorry coaching against Lakers to lose.

Magic know they can't get into playoffs, so are they trying to tank now?

The Magic is illustrating how valuable Vučević is for the team. And it is not on Skiles that Gordon, İlyasova, and Nicholson combined for a grant total of 9 points in 52 minutes played. The PF rotation is rotten, and the Magic is getting manhandled without Vučević. That for me is not "tanking." It's just being bad.

Solid point. Magic are closer to Sixers level without Vooch.

Just curious where this point of view comes from? Yeah the PF rotation had a rough go last night by only combining for 9 points...but they combined for 40 the night before.

right, its the players fault that the coach doesnt call plays for their position. 12 total shots for the PF position, yet 17 shots from just 1 SG. 40 shots total from the PG/SG spot, thats more than half the shots for the entire team.

PG - 17 shots (7 by starter)
SG - 23 shots (17 by starter)
SF - 12 shots (11 by starter)
PF - 12 shots (4 by starter)
C - 12 shots (10 by starter)

but yeah, its Gordon's fault his number isnt called for more plays

I think it is more the players fault for not looking for AG than the coach.

Its probably a little of both. But we've physically seen Skiles call plays for the guys people are claiming he doesn't call plays for, although i'll agree inconsistently, I'm not going to fall off the damn wagon and call for a firing. Guys seem to be playing selfishly, I noticed it against the Lakers, guys were open and just getting frozen out. It makes sense though that Skiles calls the number of our best options on offense. While AG can score he isn't creating for himself consistently yet. Fournier can get his shot, so can Oladipo and of course Vooch can as well.

if a player has a mismatch, and the other players consistently dont go to that player, shouldnt the coach say something?

They arent tanking on purpose. This is a bad basketball team as constructed with lil experience and even worse mental fortitude.

AG is like 20 years old. Imagine when he is 24-25 years old. Can't rush growth. He will be fine and more capable to create and score on his own as the years go by.

in no way shape or form should we have to wait 4-5 more years to see AG playing well. if it takes that long, everyone involved in his development needs to be fired

So, what you are saying is that he should be playing like a superstar now instead of developing into one over the next 3-5 years.
