poll: Orlando eliminated from participating in the playoffs

Our Magic can get to 39 wins, where both Detroit and Indiana sits. I guess this means Orlando looses the tiebreakers to both teams.
The Orlando Magic were officially eliminated from the Playoffs following Friday’s loss to the Miami Heat. With 10 games left, what is left? Only to win[/quote
LINKFor me on reason of positivity is that the Magic where in playoff contention for 72 games. That is progression. But in the end I saw 35-37 wins and a near miss on the playoffs. This team looks to be outside that.

Usually, 39 wins gets you a playoff spot.

Yeah this is right about where I thought we would be. I was thinking in the mid to late lottery. We are in a group of 5 teams fighting(unofficialy) for the 7th spot so I think at worst we end up at 12 so these remaining games do have some meaning.

Skiles really has turned this team around!

I have predicted not more than 34 wins this season.

I expected around 35-37 wins, but I didn't expect us to nose dive as hard as we have in the new year. Bottom five team with bottom five defense in 41 games in 2016... smh. Shouldn't we be getting better as the games go on?

I was expecting 38, at this point we'll be lucky to get 35, so we'll certainly be below my prediction. The team clearly has ability, but they fell off a cliff in January and never found their way back up.

I expected playoffs just like the organization did. Skiles wasn't brought in here for nothing less and going after Millsap was another indicator. Half the league goes to the playoffs, specifically each conference and they still can't make it after 4 years of building. They just underachieved.

I was hopeful for playoffs but to be honest this is where I saw the team. Without a superstar it's so hard to achieve anything in this day and age in the league.

To be fair, I don't think we "expected" to before this year. And we're still an insanely young team. The difference is we had the talent and the start to maintain it and I think that's where Skiles failed as he was dependent on a very faulty way of winning and thought it would translate. How many times did we play the Cavs and Wiz the exact same way with no changes.

I thought we'd be slightly better tbh but the result isn't surprising either with changes to the coaching staff and having to develop 3 young guys who figure to be core players in the future.

-Predicted 35 wins before the season started.
-Team found early success so I thought we could slip into the 8th spot.
-I think we are where I expected them to be in the process.
-Next season we will make the playoffs.
Also I hate when people compare our rebuild with Boston or Detroit. Boston didn't go 100% through the draft and it took DET basically 7 years to find some success. Bad comparisons.

19-13 was way beyond expectations, but 11-30 is way BELOW expectations - so right now, I'm not thrilled at all.
30+ wins is an improvement, however. So...yeah.

I was expecting between 34-36 wins for the season. I also had some decent hopes for a playoff spot at least the 8th spot. Some changes have to be made come the offseason for us to ever come back from the abyss we have been residing the last four seasons.

My highest fantasy hopes were that the team would end up just shy of .500 but would still miss the playoffs as it was clear the East was going to be a lot stronger this year.
My realistic and more rational hopes were that this team would win between 34-36 wins. So it is very plausible they achieve that.
One of the things I really wanted the Magic to improve was its horrific defense last season. As of right now, the Magic are ranked 16th in the NBA.

Basically this. My expectations were surpassed in the first 32 games but the next 43 was a complete failure. Brought more positives than negatives and makes you question our future for the first time. Will a strong push in these last couple of games erase that? Doubt it but it does give some glimpse of hope for next season with the free agency and draft.

I thought they could make the playoffs and be a .500 team
They started well.
Then they stagnated
And improvement stopped...
Basically a lost year... How many questions did we answer?
Is AG a 3 or 4?
Is Payton your PG?
You commiting to vooch?
What about Fournier

None of these options suit me. The start exceeded my expectations, but I did expect this team to be significantly better this year. Given this team's form since that start, it is very difficult to be encouraged by this season on the whole.

So wait; The Magic of the 2015-2016 season have performed just about as well as many expected they could, however, Skiles is a terrible coach and needs to go?
Seems strange to me.
I was actually expecting us to make the POs this year, but I sort of understand a few of the reasons we didn't.
1) This was the first year we got a glimpse of what AG could be for us, and it looks promising
2) Payton has become a huge question mark, but I'm willing to commit to the explanation that he was battling injuries all year
3) We still don't really know whether Vuc is a problem, but maybe he is?
4) Oladipo's entire season was an enigma. Maddening inconsistency and fundamental errors and mistakes mixed with unbelievable performances, showing of grit and guts, overall everything you'd want in a star.
5) Mario didn't get much of a chance this year, but what we did see looked pretty good for a young Euro Rookie on limited minutes
6) We close the season with projected MASSIVE cap room. I have been a huge Henny supporter and believer since his hiring. Every move that left me scratching my head has turned into gold and I've gladly eaten crow on each occasion. Here's his chance to really show us what it's all about and either solidify himself as one of the best GMs in the League, or pretty much put himself into the fire.
Here's to next year my brethren. It's not all bad.
