O-Sen: Gordon's season looks to be over

Aaron Gordon sustained a concussion during the Orlando Magic's loss to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday and will not play against the Miami Heat on Friday, Magic officials said.

The injury could end Gordon's season, because the Magic have only four games remaining and because Gordon has entered the NBA's concussion protocol, which states a player must pass a series of tests before he is allowed to return to practice and later to game action.

What a very good year for AG. Feel like this was his rookie year. Next year, we should unleash the beast. No more training wheels.

Hope he works on his 3pt shot and his first step off the dribble this off season. Kid is going to be a beast I can't wait to watch him next season.

Yeah...just shut him down. No reason to risk him re-aggravating it. Open those minutes up to AN, let him chuck away and earn himself a good contract somewhere.

Loved what I saw from AG this season. He needs to work hard and stay healthy this summer. Hopefully next season Skiles lets AG do his thing from day one onward. Biggest bright spot this season IMO

Can't wait to see AG put himself in the conversation as one of the best young forwards in the NBA and we start to make our return back to contention. Put in that work, enjoy life and stay far away from your less talented brother please.

I would say if this season had any positives, it's Aaron Gordon's emergence. I say just shut him down too. He's going to be the be the face of this team, no need to risk doing anything to jeopardize that in a non playoff year.

The bright spot of this somewhat disappointing season. Can't wait to see the Magic let him loose next year.

I'm excited to see what Gordon does with his game over the summer. He could go so many directions right now.

I've got a feeling AG is gonna look like Blake Griffin crossed with Grant Hill next Summer League (that's what's fun about summer league - watching our young talent play like stars).

AG won't play Summer League next season. He's already done his time there. Next summer league will be the Hezonja show.

Yeah Gordon killed it and is a regular starter. No reason to compete in it.

It'll be the Mario show, I hope Olympics don't bother that.

I always saw him as a smarter right handed Josh Smith.

No surprise.

As others have said, good (not great) season for him in what was really his rookie year.

For folks that maintain that Skiles doesn't develop or play youth, AG is the counterargument.

This year was a decent jump for Gordon. I hope that he works on his shooting a bit more, because his shooting outside of the paint is still a bit questionable (see shot chart linked below). He's gotten better at shooting, but he still has a long way to go. Even though he's being shut down at the end of the year, he's proven some durability by playing a decent number of games this seasons and not getting hurt to where he can't play.

He'll be a solid player for the Magic for quite some time, even if he doesn't become a superstar like a lot on this board seem to suggest.

Doubt Mario plays in SL. Olympic qualifiers (vs Greece and Italy) are being held at the time.

Ok. Wow, we're going to have a pretty unexciting team this upcoming summer league then

Yeah, lol.

But we'll have a chance to watch Mario in match-up with Giannis, Belinelli, Gallinari..
