Haven't listened, but is he positive, negative or neutral about it? He and lowe used to praise us often, but they've been taking a lot of shots at us lately.

"I wrote a 700 page book about basketball and I've never met a Magic fan."

Apparently the podcast is with an orlando magic fan from the ringer.

He's a writer for the Ringer. Never heard of him but I agree with a lot of his points.

Bill Simmons: Every time I watched them, I found they never had the right lineup, but I liked their players.

I bet he tuned in when we had the four guard lineup on the floor

They talked about Gordon as a small ball 5 or 4 and completely shut down the idea of him as a 3. I think they were way off on that front.
Otherwise, I agree with A LOT that they said and talked about.

A Woj report:
https://sports.yahoo.com/video/scott-skiles-resigns-magic-coach-224809929.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=maSome guys really went to bat for him to get the job here, a source there told me today.
Others in the Magic hierarchy, they were relieved Skiles was gone... every day was a battle with him.
Skiles hiring was the strong recommendation of ownership and Magic president Alex Martins, who loved him as a player in the 90's there.

I've been on the AG at PF bandwagon since day one pretty much. His skill set (rebounding, hustle baskets, defense) seems much more suited for the 4. But I'm all for flexibility, he certainly can play the 3 as needed.

Basically, it's an interview by Bill Simmons of Zelanooq or some other clown from these boards that is completely anti-Skiles and of the opinion that Hezonja never, ever played.

Simmons called Jacque Vaughn a corpse and said the microphone he was talking into could win as many games as him

He's a bit of a tweener, but the right kind, IMO.
His perimeter and on ball defense is stronger than his post defense, IMO. And with his speed and athleticism he's primed to still be an elite rebounder from the 3 spot.
I just feel that training him up with back to the basket moves at this point wastes his strong handles, passing and athleticism.
Ideally he improves all of those areas. And in 4-5 years he'll probably become a full time PF. But with the right development he could be a Draymond kind of playmaking PF instead of a Faries style hustle PF.

The comment about Hezonja saying his natural position was PG was interesting... Id personally love to see how a Mario/Dipo backcourt would go.

Also love the Gordon as a small ball 5 idea.
I want to see this lineup at times next season:
PG: Mario
SG: Dipo
SF: Fournier
PF: Rookie/FA
C: Gordon

This is how I view him. The spacing between his feet is so massive when he gets down in his defensive stance, that I think there are a lot of athletic wings that he will always have trouble defending. But he doesn't play bigger than he is when he is defending in the post either. He is something of a tweener at the moment, but he matches up exceptionally well against some of the tougher guys in the league to defend (Nowitzki and Aldridge). I think where he can genuinely shine is as a help defender and as a five against lineups without a genuine post threat. He covers so much ground so quickly. I think there is a place for him defensively against almost any lineup, regardless of the opposition.

"It’s unclear whether Jacque Vaughn should be managing a Costco, much less coaching an NBA team." - Bill Simmons, a couple weeks before Vaughn got fired.
