Now we can stop thinking about where we'll draft and focus on what to do with the pick.
Do we
A) Keep the pick and select [insert name]
B) Trade the pick

Keep the pick, take one of Labissiere, Maker, or D. Murray

Keep, take Marquese Chriss if available or else Deyonta Davis.
I think if you pick B, you should also state who you want to trade the pick for.

Keep. Getting a productive player on rookie deal for 4 years is a more valuable commodity than what it would probably fetch on the market.

Keep, because we wouldn't get anything decent for it anyway.

It all depends on the offer, but I say keep the pick. Hopefully someone drops. Rob has shown he knows what to look for and we're building an identity.

Keep the pick and draft Tyler Ulis. He will compliment Elf well and be a great career back up.

List of #11 picks in the last 30 years. We're in familiar territory as we picked JJ Redick, Fran Vazquez and Nick Anderson with 11th picks. Seems historically teams have better luck gambling on shooters than a big with the 11th pick.
2015 Myles Turner
2014 Doug McDermott
2013 Michael Carter-Williams
2012 Meyers Leonard
2011 Klay Thompson
2010 Cole Aldrich
2009 Terrence Williams
2008 Jerryd Bayless
2007 Acie Law
2006 JJ Redick
2005 Fran Vazquez
2004 Andris Biedrins
2003 Mickaël Pietrus
2002 Jared Jeffries
2001 Kedrick Brown
2000 Jerome Moiso
1999 Trajan Langdon
1998 Bonzi Wells
1997 Olivier Saint-Jean
1996 Todd Fuller
1995 Gary Trent Ohio
1994 Carlos Rogers
1993 Allan Houston
1992 Robert Horry
1991 Terrell Brandon
1990 Tyrone Hill Xavier
1989 Nick Anderson
1988 Will Perdue
1987 Reggie Miller
1986 John Salley[/quote]

Davis and Chriss look like the most likely options if the draft shakes out how we currently expect. Both bring a needed big man with scoring punch.

We should be aiming a lot higher than a career backup at #11. Why not take a big and get Kay Felder in the second round? He's very similar to Ulis and less expensive.

I expect the Magic to keep this pick as there are needs to be filled at the income line of an #11. Expect a PF to be selected to create bench depth. Projecting a starter is probably the wrong way to think about this pick.

Well, if Orlando makes a mega-trade, this pick (or its rights) would need to be added. For example, to gain Griffin, there might be a trade just after the Magic select so that the Clippers would get the rights to the selection AND Orlando could add next year's first. The better of Orlando's-first or the 2019 Lakers pick probably gets thrown in as well.
Still not sure that Oladipo, Gordon, the 2016-draft rights, the 2017 first and the better of Orlando/Lakers-2019 is enough for Griffin, but the long-term effect on the team is sweet.
Such a trade allows for a 2nd tier FA to be added, such as Harrison Barnes.
As an example:
Payton/Watson/Napier
Fournier/Hezonja
Barnes/FA
Griffin/Smith/Nicholson
Vučević/Dedmon
This is a potential champion.

I actually like all the big men listed around the Magic pick. All have weaknesses, some more than others, but there isn't one that I think I would be upset with the Magic picking. Davis is probably my favorite of the group for now, but I will watch more videos of all of them in the next month. I also like Valentine a lot, but I realize that the Magic will most likely go big and it's the most needed position right now.
I'm surprised to see some list Maker. I get that he has a lot of potential, but there are so many question marks about him and his game that there is no way I would use a lottery pick on him. I think he should have gone to college for a few years, and I don't think he's anywhere close to being NBA ready. If he's available in the 2nd round, sure go for it, then stash him in the D-League for a year or two. However, the Magic can't afford to take that type of risk with the 11th pick. Potential is great and all but I'm not even sure this kid would do well in college, let alone the NBA. There are other draft picks that might be based more on potential like Davis or Chriss, but at least they can contribute some right away.
