For the record... In the last thread, I responded to a post suggesting we could maybe offer Indiana VO and Vuc for Paul George by saying that I did not think we could make a trade for Paul George without losing AG. Not that we SHOULD package VO, Vuc, and AG to get him. In my opinion AG is the closest thing to an untouchable guy we have on the roster. Even though PG is certainly better right now, and very possible could remain the better player throughout his career, I'm not sure it's wise to trade AG right now. If Indiana wanted to trade Paul George for VO and Vuc, though, I'd be all about that.

I'll post what I did at the end of the last speculation thread regarding Paul George.

"I trade AG and any player or any 3 players not counting AG for Paul George. He's a superstar, top 10 player in the league and still only 26 years old. He automatically makes us a contender.

They want AG and Dipo, give it to them. You can still roll with Elf, Evan/Mario, George, ?, Vuc with enough cap space to max out 1 player to play alongside Paul George. Sign Horford and that's a contender.

They want Dipo, Vuc, and Mario. Give it to them. You can still roll with Elf, Evan, George, AG, C?. You would still have enough money to max out 2 FA's to play alongside Paul George. Sign Batum and Horford/Whiteside/or hell even a Biyombo and that's a legit contender.

Getting Paul George automatically makes us one of the top places to come as a FA.

To me it's a no-brainer that if Paul George is available and he would want to come here since we have Vogel you do whatever it takes to get him."

To Blue and White, I would rather obviously trade Elf then Dipo as well, but they get to choose. No chance we do a trade where we keep Dipo and AG and get Paul George. AG is probably the #1 target for them and Dipo is probably #2. For Paul George I reluctantly trade both or Dipo and any combination of 2 assets not named AG, their choice.

To get Paul George you would have to overpay and to me Paul George is worth overpaying for(within reason).

Maybe it's because he's my favorite player on the team but as long as AG stays, I'm fine with giving Indy whatever they want. Would be very difficult for any forwards to score on us.

superstar is a bit of a stretch but he's definitely worth a lot....just not sure he's worth 3 starters though...i would reluctantly do vuc and vic...throw in the #11 as well as the lakers pick but that's as far as it would go for me...that should be enough

I think the Magic make an offer but Pacers reject Henny's offer because Pacers want too much and we never hear about it.

I would actually do this deal as much as I like Vooch but I think Miami resigns Whiteside cuz he likes it down there so much.

I still think the Heat sell Whiteside on Riley's vision. He is capable of making that team win for many years regardless of Age with his craftiness of building a contending team thru trades, free agency and just plain being a superior GM in the NBA. Whiteside ain't going to Orlando in my opinion. I would love Whiteside in Orlando but I don't think Whiteside won't come to Orlando unless they win Durant or George. Otherwise will never happen in my opinion. People need not to get their hopes up in my opinion.

Am I being silly that I prefer signing free agents over trading our core pieces for bigger names? I feel overly attached to these young players we have and I don't want to give up on them as I feel we would be so darn deep if we can keep them while signing top free agents this offseason and next. Sigh.. just already having sellers remorse lol

Nope, we started a rebuild and we need to see it through. It makes no sense to only give 1, 2, or 3 years in Oladipo's case to players that we're just scratching the surface with. People have made declarations about ceilings and future all stars and yada yada after only a year or two and it's pretty silly. You only trade away players when you know they've hit a ceiling and they can still bring back something good, or in the rare case of a superstar being available for what you're willing to offer.

(QO's: Fournier, Nicholson, Dedmon/Irsan team option).

Team MUST spend an additional $60M just to reach salary floor, but not exceed $90M to avoid salary cap/luxury tax threshold.

Why is it that people want current or former Pacers players now? Are those the only guys Vogel can coach? How about letting him coach our CURRENT roster and build our OWN identity instead of trying to turn us into the Orlando Pacers?

This is 100% correct. This roster is on their 4th coach, no stability, no identify, we have no idea what have and should let the new coach ACTUALLY coach them. I don't understand peoples constant need for change, I wish they would just sit down and relax.

I'm the same way. Vogel has me so excited about our young core I'm reluctant to trade any of them. If getting a borderline superstar in PG required AG and Vic I don't know if I could do it. There's to much potential and ceiling. I would much rather add through free agency and make a run at Paul in 2018.
