Who should be our starting SG and SF over the next 3+ years?

Let's say you are the GM and this summer you have to make decisions that fit your vision of the team in terms of who our starting SG and starting SF will be. This is not a vote of who will start at the beginning of next season. This is a bigger picture scenario. What is your vision of who starts majority of the time over the course of the next 3+ years?

You have to make the decision between Oladipo, Fournier, Hezonja at SG and Fournier, Hezonja, Gordon at SF.

You can only vote twice. What is your vision based on our current roster?

There is no Other option as in "Player Drafted" or "Big named FA" or "Player we need to trade for" in this scenario.

*There is an option to change your vote at any time.

Without knowing of any trades or FA signings,

Oladipo Starting SG

Hezonja Starting SF

Perfect future duo. Payton learns to hit free throws at a respectable % and we are on to some great things. Gordon at PF of course in this scenario, Vuc at C.

I voted for Durant as SF.

Good poll question.

Fournier on a great deal would have been perfect off the bench. Thanks, Skiles.

Dipo starting SG and Mario starting SF.

Just sounds beastly.

3 years? We have had 3 coaches in that amount of time and you want me to commit to this?

So assuming there are no other changes to the roster...you'd hope Hezonja gets better than Fournier at a certain point. I have super high hopes for him. Gordon's ability to play 3 and 4 makes this easier for us. So 3 years out ---> Payton/Oladipo/Hezonja/Gordon/Vucevic is what you hope for is the best lineup.

But if you ask me about next year, it's totally up in the air and probably going to be Fournier starting at 3 as of right now, which is totally fine. In the grand scheme of things, it really won't matter who starts. We're set up pretty well on the wings and depending on who ends up the better of the 2 between Fournier and Hezonja, they'll end up starting at the 3. If Hezonja jumps Fournier at some point, great and he wins the starting job and we have a great 2 guard off the bench. If not, we still have a great 2 guard off the bench. It's a win-win situation honestly. One of the few we have.

The real issue we have is in the frontcourt (along with Payton's shooting). I still think Whiteside under Vogel is a gamechanger for us and further accentuates a mismatch of AG at the 4.

Without any further additions, Oladipo at SG and Hezonja at SF. The beauty of our roster is that Oladipo can play SG, Hezonja can play SG and SF, Fournier (if re-signed) can play SG and SF, and Gordon can play SF and PF depending on what line ups we decide to go with. It's great to have that ability and flexibility. Let's hope Vogel finds the right combination, something our previous coaches didn't really manage to do.

Depends on who we have at PF and C. Right now, to get the most out of our current group, you'd be best running Oladipo 2, Hezonja 3 and Gordon 4. But, if we had Porzingis at the 4 (hypothetically speaking), I'd consider Gordon at the 3 and Hezonja at the 2.

So it's tough, since we're not a complete team yet.

Barring trades or a superstar in FA, Dipo/Hezonja.

Good post Op.

I'm going with the following for the next 2-3 years

- Oladipo at the 2
-Gordon at the 3

3-4 years plus then I see the following

- Oladipo 2
- Hezonja 3
- Gordon big enough to go full time at the 4 after Horford's Contract expires

If only Oladipo could play the point full time....Maybe Hezonja being the facilitator at 6'9. Would love to see Hezonja at the 2(Dominating Size), Gordon at the 3 and pick your 3&D 4 but man, Porzingis at the 4 would be awesome. Will never happen however but it would be awesome. Just watching him this year was awesome to see how he changes the game defensively. A 7'3 shot blocking/shot changing monster who can shoot the J and moves well. If there ever was a fit next to VUC it would be him.

Payton/Oladipo/Hezonja/Gordon is our core in my opinion. Assuming Oladipo can get consistency with his post all star numbers, Payton becomes an average shooter and a threat, and Gordon continues to evolve then those 4 offer great balance. The only concern moving forward is center because while I love Vucevic I really believe he is a slightly above average starter and a rich back up. Ideal line up would be

Payton/Scoring PG
Oladipo/Fournier
Hezonja/3 and D wing
Gordon/Rim protector and floor stretcher
Rim protector/Vucevic

So 3 positions to fill out and hopefully the draft and free agency can do that

Oladipo at the 2 and Hezonja at the three. Its clearly the vision of the front office
