Off topic, but reading the around the league thread, seems like a lot of people either really like LeBron or really dislike LeBron. Thought it would be interesting to see a poll and maybe a brief summary of why.

I am personally a huge LeBron fan. Really besides anyone on our team, and my boy JJ Redick, LeBron is probably my favorite non Magic player in the Association. An all around talent, physical beast, and basketball IQ through the roof. Really don't understand how any basketball fan doesn't like LeBron. Honest question. Let's keep this civil lol.

Better than MJ? Not sure
Do i like him? NOT!!!

I would like him if after every time he makes a play we didn't have to sit there and watch him whine like a baby even if nobody even touches him.

I think he has poor sportsmanship, so I choose dislike. I respect his ability and talent. I think he's a great guy OFF the court. But on the court I dislike him because of the way he's handled himself throughout his career. It's not as bad as it once was though. i used to hate him, but he's not quite the bad sport he was in his younger years, but it's still worse than most.

Like him as a player, dislike him as a person.

Since there is not, I'm voting dislike.

One of the alltime greats and a lot of people can't appreciate his legacy. I dont have a reason to dislike him and id rather appreciate greatness

He won most popular male athlete and most unpopular male athlete in the same year. Probably the most polarizing athlete of all time. Im rooting for him in these finals though.

I rooted against the Heat for the first year after "The Decision" because I thought the way the whole thing went down was pretty tactless, but other than that I've always been a pretty big Bron fan.

I understand why people are annoyed with the complaining towards the refs, but honestly I don't think he's that much worse than most other superstars in the league or anyone that plays for the Warriors. That doesn't make the complaining right but he's definitely gets singled out for it more than others.

I respect him as one of the greatest ever, but I don't like him.

I like lebron most of the time. I think he is still the best overall player in the league. Im rooting for cle right now. I live about an hour away from cle, that poor city needs something the browns aint doing anything.

Before Lebron we had Kobe. So the bar for likability of the premier player in the sport was set very very low. Also, as others have said, he receives more hate than he deserves. Are any of you watching 'OJ: Made in America'? So much of that is absolutely terrifying and has links to recent events... yet we hate an athlete for complaining about falls?

Hence, I voted "Like him."

I used to hate him in Cleveland. Then I loathed him in Miami. Then I became somewhat more sympathetic when he went back to Cleveland. Now, I generally like him. I think he has changed a lot since he came in the league. There are some personality traits that are still present that can rub me the wrong way at times; like his passive aggressive leadership. But, overall I think it's cool that he went back home and made a huge power play and basically runs a team as a player. I'm pretty indifferent to who wins the Finals.

I should also say, there are very few players I dislike in the NBA. It takes a lot for me to hate a player. Sometimes our "disdain" is so irrational.

I dont like him. He disrespected the Magic players when we put them out of the playoffs. Poor Sportsmanship. I like watching him play howeve.

All time great talent. Self entitled, whiny, narcissistic douchebag. Dislike.

yeah I voted for Like him. I don't really see a reason to dislike him. I am annoyed by all the coverage he gets and that live decision he made a few years back was ridiculous but I don't blame him solely for that and it isn't a reason for me to dislike him. That said I don't know him so I can't really say either way. Also haven't heard too much about his personal life as I tend to avoid a lot of that. Also not sure how well he treats fans(for example does he respond to kids well when asking for autographs or whatever). Don't know much about that side so all I can say is that for what I can see I just don't really see why I can say I dislike the guy. More just annoyed but that isn't all his fault.

I was neutral the first time he was on the Cavs, then I disliked him intensely when he was in Miami.

Now I like him. He went back home to try to help his city win.

I've been pulling hard for him the past two Finals.

I've only disliked him for the selfish reason of having him stay and have a legacy in Cleveland as opposed to joining an inter-state rival and trying to form a dynasty. Mostly respect even through the pre-game celebrations at the start of his career and the GM leeway he has now(in addition to acquiring Varejao's flop game). It's sad that his team success does not matchup his individual accolades as he probably had one of the best seasons ever for a basketball player. It's also weird that his best season will always be in a Miami uniform.

I don't see why people say he is an all-time great. I don't see that. Maybe i just don't like his style of play.
