Feel free to explain your pick below.
I'm rolling with Taurean Prince. Loved him as a player in college and think his game will translate very well at the next level. Provides length, defense, and athleticism at the SF position. Something we need.

I'd like to see the voices behind the votes. 2 for Thon? Who are you? These polls can be ruined by non-Magic posters.
Also, you should remove trade. I think majority would want that in some shape or form.

I honestly believe he has the tools to be the highest ceiling BPA at 11. I want a center, someone we can hope to replace Vuc and anchor our defense. Hes big hes fast and I like his measurements and mobility. Id be happy with him Diallo or Davis in that order but I'm sorry my eye test says Makers gonna be a player.

Agreed. Removed the trade option.

I voted Prince because we could use his toughness and motor. He is also an older prospect that can play right away rather than a project like a lot of other players. I wouldn't mind us trading down to get him.
I also wouldn't mind Luwawu, Sabonis, and Diallo if we went with a younger potential player.

I can respect that bro. I'm a fan of Thon too.
I went with Davis (with a bit of hesitation) at 11. I'd like Thon or Diallo in a trade down though. I just think they could be had later and our GM can take advantage of that if that's his true targets. But at 11, I can't pull the trigger on either. I can on Davis.

On my phone but I think I'm all in on Ellenson. I think a guy with his skill set could do a lot of good for us offensively. And people compare his defense to Love's but his measurables are a lot better. He's long. Could be a great forward combo once we get a defensive anchor at center.
But also wouldn't mind Skal, Luwawu, or Davis.

If we can get a decent bench guy and still draft Maker, thats great. If we can get a future 2nd rounder and still get Maker, are you willing to do the 2nd option? The first seems a bit harder to grasp.

Exactly. I feel he will be a very good SF in this league. I think he's really good in the fast break too which is something we're going to do a lot next year. Being an older player and more polished as a player also gives him the edge for me.

I doubt we draft Deyonta still.

Almost everything. He has physical limitations, but he works hard and does the dirty work. He has good hands and nice touch from inside. Very good defensive rebounder. Runs the floor really well. Shot well away from the basket and will probably develop an effective NBA 3-point shot.
Players I really hope we avoid...
Ellenson: has an array of offensive moves and nothing else
Maker: years away from being years away
Poeltl: traditional big man in a league that has evolved beyond the traditional big man; anything beyond a layup is out of his range
Labissiere: length, nice shooting range, and almost nothing else

Reasonable to have doubts based on Henny's past, but I think Vogel will have a stronger say than any coach in the past has had.
Davis' 3.9 blocks per 40 is the kind of rim protection that Vogel can base his entire defense around. Davis also has size to hold his ground as a post defender. Not many prospects provide both rim protection and post defense.

I voted Prince, I think he fits this team like a charm. Gritty defender, 3 point threat, toughness, and if called upon he can shoulder the scoring burden.

Didn't Vogel say he won't be involved much in the draft (by choice) this year due to the timing of the job change and moving his family?

Being introverted doesn't necessarily mean Deyonta has low character. If being emotional and talkative were a reliable indicator of character, Kawhi would have busted out of the league, and BBD would have had the strongest work ethic in the NBA. It just means it will be a bit more difficult for a coach to connect with him, but I'm not too worried since Vogel is our coach.
Deyonta might have a poor work ethic, or he might not. We don't really know, although Hennigan probably does.

I voted for Sabonis as well for pretty much all the reasons you listed. I'm at the point where I'm sick of waiting for players to develop. I believe at the 11 spot, he's the most NBA ready at this point. He does need to get better defensively, but with he way he hustles, I don't see why that can't improve quickly under Vogel. I do like a lot of other guys as well, and so I won't be upset if we don't go with him, but give me someone who can immediately contribute over another project.
