How would the board feel about signing Lin if there isnt anything else out there for us at Point?

Would that make you reverse your boycott?

Are you suggesting Lin to replace Payton, or to back him up or as a back up for both the 1 and 2?

As a backup, and capable fill in starter just in case.

We'd have to pay him a lot to come here... he's already made it known he wants to stay in Charlotte.

I for one, would be all for it. Would be great to have a complete change of pace as a backup and for needed scoring. Even if he costs $10 mil per. (I put the price in there because that is what I am willing to pay) 8-)

Yes he does. Jeremy Lin and Mike Conley are best PG in free agency and PG spot is our weakest spot in starting 5 and bench.

imo, Our SG / SF spots are worse off than PG.

Do we even have presumptive starters in those positions? SG -- Evan or Mario? SF -- is AG a SF, if not, where does he fit?

I think EP had a sophomore slump year -- plus the whole drama with Skiles. He definitely needs to step up his offensive game and get more confidence in it.

Not interested. I'd rather Payton start over Lin and Lin would be too expensive for a backup.

Jennings as a backup is better than Lin as a backup.

I agree, but will Jennings want to stay in that role? Last I heard, he had big eyes for NY (Knicks or Nets). Since Knicks have Rose, cross them off. Brooklyn is a real possibility.

I also heard our management really like him and his scoring ability as a balance to Elf's pass-first style.

I like Lin and would welcome him more because he seems like a better team guy and more accepting of a bench role.

Its odd to use the term upside for a vet but i still believe once hes 100% he could be an x factor any given night. I definetly wouldnt overlook Jennings but I do like Linn

If we can't get any of the guys we really want I would throw a huge one year contract so lin fills a need this season as we push for the playoffs and then he can leave next year to free up space for us to make a more realistic run at a star after hopefully we make the playoffs this year

He is one of my targets. Would love to sign him here long term. Smart player, cable scorer and great teammate. There is a reason Cliffy loves him and wants to keep him.

Jeremy Lin showed last season what he is capable of in terms of coming off the bench and having a big impact on games. Coming off the bench and starting here and there is probably the best way to get the most out of him, though he has shown he is capable of starting. So I wouldn't be against seeing us bring in Jeremy Lin, though I suspect we would have to pay him a fair whack to consider coming here, and perhaps we could get Brandon Jennings back in Orlando at a better price.

Lin isn't good enough to start here? Are you sure?

Seem like the type of move this team would make now days, low risk/no reward

Sadly, not only can i see us sign him, but i can see us overpay to get him too
