We are only losing the trade if Serge doesn't sign back with us. Then we are definitely losers of that deal.

LOSER
Orlando Magic
After years of patiently drafting and developing talent, the Magic have been undone by impatience. Orlando hired Scott Skiles to expedite the team's push to become a playoff contender but that experiment imploded after one year, as several of its prospects had their development stunted – and Tobias Harris was shipped out in a salary dump.

Hiring Frank Vogel appeared to be the move that could get those young pieces to prosper, but the Magic abandoned another one of their promising players in Victor Oladipo as part of a deal to acquire Oklahoma City Thunder center Serge Ibaka. Getting Ibaka would make more sense if Orlando didn't already have Aaron Gordon in the fold. Gordon, the high-flying, slam-dunk champion, couldn't find consistent playing time until Harris moved on. Now, with Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic around, Gordon could be back to playing the waiting game. The Magic had no use for the rights to Domantas Sabonis, who was sent to the Thunder, but needed a veteran small forward rather than another big man. Sacrificing a young, potentially dynamic scorer could come back to haunt them.

Oladipo is a young, potentially dynamic scorer huh. Who knew?

How is he going to call Serge Ibaka a centre and then also say that he plays the same position as AG?

This is the second article in two days that I've seen refer to Aaron Gordon as the Slam Dunk Champion.

Are you not surprised? We always get the F when trades happen. Sit back wait for everything to work out, then watch some writers eat crow.

Be happy with the trade, but how is he not a potentially dynamic scorer?

I agree with him, but I hope we are both wrong.

What is really funny is the ESPN talking heads did not call it a loss, or we are losers in that trade......in fact it was a widely and well known fact that Nik's D was terrible, we could not stop anything in the paint (with the exception of AG) and we needed to get tougher!

Well, we just got tougher, Serge is now either the best player we have, or he should be! He also plays and defends 4 positions, with a mean streak!!! If we lose with that.......I am OK with that!!! These losers just got better!!!!

Additionally, the problem for Serge in OKC is that he did not fit Billy D's schemes, Serge also wanted to be more involved and possibly become the man in a new situation! Well....Problem solved for Serge and we will also Max him out! He will be what Dwight should have been......THE MAN IN ORLANDO!!!!!!

Outside pundits have hated everything we've done, till it's worked out. Then they laud it. Do they ever go back and say "You know I really hated that trade at the time, boy was I wrong!" Nope.

I feel like not spelling vertical right kind of proves that we are losers. Lol

Seriously though. I think both teams can win from this. But the success of each team doesn't hinge on this singular move. It matters how they follow up on this.

we got a better fitting piece in Ibaka.

but we lost that deal by throwing in #11. considering the best OKC were being offered by other teams was the #9 from the Raptors, Oladipo alone should've been enough.

but... Thon was taken 1 pick before us, so it's all a moot point, anyway.

They are gonna say that. Watch Dipo get a gazillion calls now that he is on the thunder. He couldn't buy a trip to the line with us. The league..smh.

I think we got treated like a person with no credit trying to get a loan. You always get a high rate trying to establish yourself. Once you take care of that and get some credibility, then you can get better deals. We had to pay to play on this one, so we took a small L. Let's hope Ibaka shows up and we get back into the playoffs. Then, we change our position in the game.

Serious note, this shouldn't surprise anybody. WE get hammered by all media outlets besides the sentinel.

Everyone hates Orlando. They used to dog on us when we had Shaq. They used to dog on us when we had Dwight. They dog on us now!

It's never going to change. Water is wet.

They are right. I think it's funny how you guys are trying to convince yourself that we won it but we really got hosed in the deal. Ibaka is the guy we've wanted for years next to Vucevic but if you ask me we shouldn't be moving a guy who plays both ways in Oladipo to accommodate the softest center in the league.

I can't really remember when a team was built this way.

Vucevic is a fine player but we shouldn't be mortgaging our future on him being a star and by selling the farm to acquire Ibaka we basically just did.

This whole thing looks 100000x worse if we can't get Ibaka to sign an extension. If Rob can't do that, then he obviously needs to be fired immediately.
