Which one would you have preferred to have joined us this off-season?

Ignoring contract situations - Ibaka because we were in dire need of interior defense/presence.

Agreed, all things being equal in the contract arena Ibaka is the better choice and he's younger.

Millsap is much better on defense than Ibaka at this point in their careers. Plus there are doubts about Serge's age.

Ibaka because we'll want to re-sign him and he'll cost less. 33-36 year old Millsap on a 10+ year vet max contract does not sound like a good idea...

Just because a few African born players have been known to do so - let's not be so hasty as to assume they all do it.

THIS offseason? Ibaka because a death lineup with him at the 5 sounds great. Both have one year deals effectively. Ibaka's connection to Hennigan is nice. Millsap is more of a mercenary.

But I'd much rather have Millsap at 4/80 starting last season. We'd still have Tobias and Oladipo or have traded them for greater value instead of desperation. We would have made the playoffs. Downside is Skiles might be the coach.

I think you got the names mixed up as it's the exact opposite from what you said. Ibaka is better defensively and younger

Just ignore him, he's always cynical and negative about the Magic. If Ibaka was still in OKC, he'd probably say it's close and choose Ibaka because of age.

It's not just that. I've just seen some articles pointing out his progression curve matches better with him peaking 4 years ago. Plus other stuff like his 10 year old daughter, the breakdown in the way he moves, etc.

Millsap is a better player than Ibaka, but hes older and will get paid more next season. I also like Ibaka's ability to play C.

It's crazy how underrated Millsap is on defense though.

Give us both, Rob!

Both Hawks bigs are pretty underrated defensively.

Millsap was 3rd among PFs in DRPM, Ibaka was 39th
Millsap averaged 2.5 blocks and 2.7 steals (!!!) per 36, Ibaka averaged 2.8 blocks and .7
Steals are more valuable than blocks since they guarantee a change of posession
Hawks were #2 defense, the Thunder were #12
Millsap had 6 defensive win shares, Ibaka had 3

Where is the confusion coming from?

Should be more like Kristaps or Ibaka, IMO.
