So we rescinded Dedmons qualifying offer making him a unrestricted free agent?
Can anyone explain to me the reasoning behind this?
Has Dedmin been linked to GSW?

Dedmon is probably looking for a bigger role, and doesn't want to come back or come back for the money we offered.
I think part of it is just goodwill on our side so he can sign wherever.

The last big free agent to join a small market that didn't do hot in the playoffs was LeBron for Cleveland in 2014, T-Mac and Grant for us, also consider LaMarcus since SAS ended in a 1st round exit to the Clippers and they aren't a big market

Yeah it would look bad if dedmon had an opportunity to get minutes and we matched just to give him DNPs.

We probably just don't want to deal with the paperwork involved with declining an offer.

Good luck to Dedmon. He was a real trooper here. Was more than happy to have him stay, but that surprise Biyombo signing made him expendable. Glad he finally has the opportunity to go make some serious bank after busting his butt on minimum salary for so long.

I still feel like we make a couple more minor moves.
Any word on Jason Smith? Has he been mentioned anywhere at all? I was pretty positive he would have plenty of suitors with the kind of season he had.
Will absolutely LOVE to have him back, can we use the MLE on him?

Cap question
Are we over the cap? Can we use our TPE?

Well Brandon Jennings just became a New York Knick. He just tweeted that he got signed there.

That Knicks team is set up to severely disappoint their fans.

Indeed, if Rose, Noah and co can't stay healthy and return to form it surely will end in disappointment. However, if their additions manage to stay healthy and return to form they could end up competing in the east. It is debatable which is more likely, but either way, Jennings is a fair addition as a back up PG. He might even see significant time if Rose gets hurt [again].

I think their best case scenario is joining Toronto at the top of the East but as a team that really doesn't have a shot at beating Cleveland. It's still Cleveland and then the rest of the East if the Knicks reach their full potential.
Reminds me of our last ditch efforts to build around Dwight, when we traded for VC.

So out of the three.
One was a coming home discount from burning them earlier.
And the Spurs have had success prior with the same group of players so winning wasn't really in question.

Jennings 1yr/$5M?!?!?!?!?! would've much prefer that to Augustin, but he likely would've bitched here.
