So I just read that Rudy Gay has asked to be traded from the Kings. Is he someone the Magic may want to look at or do people think he'd be a poor fit for this team?

Yes. Good guy in the locker room. Lots of experience. Still can shoot. At a good price get him. Can play behind Gordon and a good mentor to him. I say , put his locker beside him.

We have his crappier twin Jeff Green.

Jeff Green's highlights are more impressive IMO

Orlando can most use a combo-big for a 14th spot.

I'd prefer him to green, but seeing how that's already a done deal, there wouldn't be enough minutes to go around.

Brooklyn should trade for him. What else have they got going for them?

I wouldn't mind seeing him play next to Bioyombo with the first unit off the bench actually might compliment more then we think.

I would only entertain this trade with the hopes he opts opt (which he would be fool not to and would be another huge expiring for us next season) and he came relatively cheap.

When I say cheap I mean cheap, something like the following I would be happy with.

CJ Watson (they desperately need PG help)
Jodie Meeks (expiring)
(2) second rd picks (might even send a very very protected future 1st theat eventually conveyed into seconds if that moved the needle)

For

Gay

Second Unit
- Augustine
- Hezonja
- Green
- Gay
- Biyombo

That second unit could compete with some first units in this league easily.

Rudy Gay is good player but not a player you want to build playoff team around. Also he will earn 14.2 mil next year and we have to send matching money back. So this trade is impossible for us.

No thanks. I have never been much of a fan of Rudy Gay. He shoots too much and isn't that great of a shooter and isn't that great defensively. I wouldn't want to even sign him as a free agent and certainly don't want to give up anything of value for him. And he isn't getting any younger. So no thanks. And I am also not sure that Biyombo will be on the second unit. I think he starts over Vuc.

Normally I wouldn't be opposed to it but since we already have Green who is probably the same player just less ego/usage, I say no.

I would think he could contribute off the bench. But as a starter, no.
