The Orlando Magic will waive swingman Devyn Marble before his salary for the upcoming season becomes guaranteed, a league source told the Orlando Sentinel.
Marble has played two seasons for the Magic, appearing in 16 games as a rookie and 28 games last season.
Marble, 23, has shown promise on the defensive end of the court, including a last-second steal late last season that helped preserve a Magic victory over the Miami Heat. But Marble has made just 22.2 percent of his 3-point attempts as a pro.

Pesky defender.
At the end of the day, it was an overall lack of an offensive game that did him in. If he could just hit an open 3.
That steal at the end of the Miami game will be his defining moment with the Magic.

I was rooting for the guy but he sucked. Best of luck to him. Maybe this opens the door for Harvey to make the team or another vet... We have a need for a 3rd stringer at 2, 4, and 5..
PG:
Payton
Augustin
Watson
SG:
Fournier
Meeks
SF:
Gordon
Green
Hezonja
PF:
Ibaka
Zimmerman
C:
Vucevic
Biyombo

Kind of thought he would stick around this season and serve a similar role. A lot of time in the D-League and brought up when depth is needed at the wing.

Yeah, you would think this was to make room for someone else. [Insert comment about a big trade coming]

aww. Another one done.
Osby and Devyn showed so much potential but just couldn't get'er done. I hope he keeps grinding and lands on a team. If Harkless can do it, so can he.

He's one of those players that looks like a legit bench guy up until his shot clanks off the rim.

I could see us bringing in Tyler Hansbrough

i don't think Gary Payton Jr is signed with an nba team, Give that guy a shot especially when Elfrid Payton has not won over the starting pg spot permanently. Payton Jr could be our 3rd string PG, He could become close as good as his dad.

I joked a while back that Vogel was talking about Hansbrough when he said he wanted some tough guys. I dislike TH, but I wouldn't be surprised if we brought him in...
"Nobody in the league plays harder than Tyler Hansbrough."
"Tyler Hansbrough is a starting power forward in this league," Vogel said. "He proves every chance he gets what he can do."
"I don't think it's possible for him to play harder in this game than he does every single night"

EP is helping to recruit and possible causing a coach to be pushed out, but he's not won over the starting spot?

I liked Devyn Marble as an end of the bench guy and hope he gets picked up.
This means The Magic will likely sign a veteran swing man and a big man to fill out the roster as I only expect them to keep 14 on the roster.

I'd love Glove jr. to be given a chance.
As for Devyn, was hoping he'd be a 3 and D. Too bad.

Imagine if we signed Gary Payton JR, We got 2 point guards with the last name Payton. Them two could be buddies and still push each other to get better. All of a sudden Gary Payton SR would become a part of our team if we signed his son. Payton SR could help Elfrid.

I still say he is a jumpshot away from being a legit contributor in this league. He does a lot of things well and is a smart player. Sad to see him go.

Maybe just for the summer league roster
http://espn.go.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/hou/houston-rocketsHouston Rockets roster on espn does not have Gary Payton Jr. I looked at our roster to see if Stephen Zimmerman is on there, yes he is. Than I looked at Celtics to see if Jaylen Brown is there and yes he is. Espn is correctly adding the draft picks and any signings to the official team rosters.

He signed a 3 year deal so I think the first year is guaranteed.
