The Magic are finalizing a trade to send Devyn Marble and a 2020 2nd-round pick to the Clippers for C.J. Wilcox and cash, per source.

The Magic were planning to waive Marble today, but the opportunity to acquire Wilcox presented itself.

I guess he would essentially fill marbles spot as the 13th man on the team? Why not just keep marble then? Lol is Wilcox any good? Anyways this trade means nothing in the grand scheme of things so keep it moving lol

Wilcox has shot the 3 fairly well, but has barely played after being the 28th pick 2 years ago and is already 25 years old. He also broke his right hand right before summer league kicked off. Just had surgery and is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. Should be plenty ready by training camp if that timetable holds up.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

@cigamodnalro: @joshuabrobbins CJ Wilcox is a nice pickup for this team. He was in the rumored Channing Frye to Clips deal that unraveled at the deadline.

Seems like we really like him. Another little-used diamond in the rough?

Essentially just takes Marble's spot...but he has shown a little bit better of a stroke from 3. Very little usage but on par with what Marble played.

He's a SG, but he's not really good at anything. He did spend some time in the dleague

Looks like a poor man's Jodie Meeks. I'm positively giddy.

Think I'd prefer the roster spot to be left open for a summer league or undrafted guy.

Does this mean that Marble had more trade value than Harkless?

Discuss amongst yourselves....

So we traded Devyn Marble for the "Clippers Devyn Marble."

Well at least we got someone back. Maybe he will be Vogels next project like he took on Stephenson.

He's gonna take meeks' spot when we don't re-sign him next summer. He's a shooter and that's about it. Your end of the bench guys are supposed to be specialists and that's what he is. If he could turn into a 3 and d guy, could be a solid get. He can already shoot and playing under Vogel, he should be able to play solid defense.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Wilcox is only making 1.2 million so whatever. It doesn't matter who's the 11th to 15th man on our roster. Only our top 10 guys get playing time unless injury or blowout game.

My first thought was... "Chris Wilcox is still in the NBA?" I don't know anything beyond what I dug up after googling him, but he can clearly shoot. If he could defend, he wouldn't be in the developmental league at the age of 25.

The Magic wanted Wilcox in the Channing Frye deal that broke down because they decided to trade for Jeff Green instead who is now with The Magic.

They are essentially giving a 2020 second round pick which they got from Cleveland for Frye for the player they wanted in Wilcox.

He's a good shooter and takes the 13th roster spot.
