it's the main thing people have been talking about on here in regards to Gordon...

I think that is the dream scenerio of the organization. We sure have put the together the all star coaching staff to make it happen. With AGs tenacious work ethic and will to win, you think something special is building. All speculation of course.

This is going to be the most arduous waiting game for the season in years. I haven't been this anxious for the season to start since we signed Sweet Lew.

"In today's small-ball NBA, we think we can beat the [expletive] out of teams in the paint," Vogel said.

Gordon is stoked to stretch his skill set. "I'm gonna be like a third guard," he said. "I'll have a much bigger ballhandling responsibility, and I'm all for that."

It's another Zach Lowe article, which made yall mad last time  (see Blast offseason moves thread)

Didn't Vogel waste half the season using Paul George as a PF last year?

Coaches set lineups, though. What sense does it make to misuse a guy if it's your career on the line?

Why would they be pissed? It has the same reserves many people have (mainly shooting and spacing) but I'm absolutely loving what Vogel is willing to experiment with re: Vucevic attempting threes and Gordon having the ball in his hands more. It's exactly what we need if we want to get the most out of our guys.

this is a good read with some great quotes and a little inside info.

I pray it all works or we'll be in another rebuild with new GM next year.

Well the way i thought it went was Bird pushed it, Vogel agreed and tried it, PG didn't like it and then Vogel backed off it and defended PG to Bird. Bird needed a new voice. Bye Vogel. So if your boss is pushing it then you have to do it.

AG can make or break this rebuild. I'm all for this.

Z Lowe lives and breathes Orlando Magic. He can't hide it. Deep down he knows they are always on his mind.

This makes it seem like Vogel was all in on the idea as well

It was 100% Birds choice to have PG play the 4. Just because he's the coach doesn't mean that someone above him (the guy who runs the organization...) can do what he wants.

Yes i said he agreed to it but it was Bird's idea and he pushed it. Vogel would have been gone quicker if he didn't try it.
from 2015--

and another from 2015
“I’m not going to get into a battle about where Paul George will play. He’s a basketball player, and we can put him anywhere out there.”
“He don’t [coach Frank Vogel] make the decisions around here. But I did it, and I loved it after I did it. I know what it did for my career and coming off this injury, I think it would be a good thing because he can still guard some threes, but he doesn’t have to do it all the time.”

So if Alex came down and said Mario is starting at Point Guard, there is nothing Vogel could do?
