Can't believe he's only 21, kid is gonna be really good.

Still laughing at certain Skiles supporters who kept saying for the first half of last year that AG wasn't ready for a bigger role.

He wasn't. He was delayed in camp by the injury and played himself into his new role in practice and limited game time and got better and learned the system. He was clueless for the first part of the season. Played through the growing pains and figured things out. Good on him.

Not sure he was ever clueless, even in his rookie year. He was much better than most of us thought.

After he got over his injury he should've been playing big minutes. Period. This narrative that AG just wasn't ready is bs. He was ready and showed it when given the chance. He didn't just learn how to play basketball after Tobias got traded.

Should be a distinction. Probably not ready for what a lot of us wanted for him and the role he would later deserve, but he was extremely effective in a lot of the small minutes he played, even if he was still learning the ropes. If those are growing pains, I'm thrilled.

Anyway, happy birthday to AG!

That bone-headed injury. Breaking his jaw "rough housing" was a foolish, childish act. Now that he is 21, hopefully he is now "mature."

Another reminder of just how young he still is. I'm excited to see what he brings this season. He will have to take a big step forward for us to be better than a fringe playoff team.
