Orlando, Fla. (Oct. 10, 2016) – The Orlando Magic have announced the October 12 preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs will be broadcast on Facebook Live, www.facebook.com/orlandomagic, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Per NBA rules, the game will be available to anyone on Facebook within a 75-mile radius of the Amway Center.

Of course Gainesville falls just short of the radius smh. At least the Magic are making an effort to bring NBA preseason to the 21st Century.

Do you have to be signed into facebook for the link to work? (I don't have FB)

This is great. Great job to atleast provide a quick solution. I will be attending the game live but I hope that Dante and Galante broadcast this, it would be epic.

It is the radio crew doing the game. Not Dante and Galante.

Ugh of course I'm just outside the radius.... Hopefully they'll be someone re-streaming it separately.

There will be streams for for those that don't live in the area. You'll just have to look for it.

This is pretty cool though. I hope that one day (soon) we'll be able to purchase a 'local online season pass'.

Is this the first time an NBA team has done this? Really cool idea. And for the people that aren't in that radius, it at least means there's a chance it'll be... put back out there on the Internet I would think.

I think it will become more and more commonplace because the cable providers' product is outdated and people are instead enjoying newer alternatives that are many times cheaper.

Streaming services like Netflix, Sling TV and PS vue all offer essentially the same product but much more inexpensively and with less invasive equipment requirements. For DirecTV or Brighthouse it requires a long term contract and some guy to arrange a time to come over to i stall it.

For Sling you just sign up online and in 5 minutes you have tv basically.

This facebook thing is similar to how we can still watch the debates for free on YouTube or twitter.

The Mavs did it for their game the other nights. A few others apparently have plans to jump on board too.

I just bought my international league pass so I am good to go, but this is great for everyone that cant normally see it.

For those that are not in the radius, I suggest trying a VPN or proxy (although getting a location in the middle of orlando might be tricky).

What if you don't have (or deactivated) a FB?
