Klay Thompson Rumors

Post#1 » by gazken » Sun Nov 13, 2016 4:20 pm

Not sure if this has been posted before so apologies if it has. But these silly rumors about us trying to get KT of Warriors are ridiculous. I know the sources are not reliable but does anyone think there's any truth behind this? Also would anyone like to to see this trade happen around dealine?

One site was saying this trade:

Warriors get Ibaka, Mario and AG and a 2017 first (probably or second round pick)

for Klay

If things are crap still in feb then I wouldn't mind this trade. But I would like to see us replace AG with something else

That is an awful trade for Orlando. AG is the only player on our roster who has a chance to be an elite two-way player - why on earth would we send him, and Ibaka, and Mario, and a first-round pick for Klay Thompson? I love Klay, and obviously we would be getting the best player in the deal, but it's not like we're in a position where we're one top player away from contending and the trade makes sense. That probably gets us into the playoffs, but nowhere near contending status. Just no.

Its fake. No way in hell they trade Klay. This is speculation that happens since they aren't undefeated for the super team they were suppose to be. Don't buy it.

I love Klays game. He'd look much worse here though.

somehow when he would get here it would end up like this...
no more open looks and about 19% on forced 3pts

I know it's fake, but I would take Klay in a heartbeat.

Somehow? I don't think it is such a mystery.

Not having Steph next to might explain the "no more open looks" scenario.

those rumors are bs and we can't make that trade since we've been wasting our asset pool
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

That trade is bad for Orlando. Klay is a hell of a player. I'd love him here but that price tag is ridiculous. I'd rather take a chance on trading for Anthony Davis or Demarcus Cousins for that price tag.

I'm not sure that price tag gets you near Davis or Cousins.

From an outside perspective and someone not overrating your own players (we all do it with our teams) I think that package is close for Klay. You could probably take out Gordon or the 1st and it would be fine value wise. Maybe because I don't watch Magic games on a day-to-day basis I don't see the players play, but seems like some of the Magic assets, especially in this deal, are just guys at this point. I think adding a legit all-star talent would be good for the team moving forward and Klay is still young enough to build around.

That price tag wouldn't even get Thompson. Nola would laugh you out of the room.

You mean not enough for Klay right? You can't possibly think that package could get one of the best 2 way players in the game.

Value wise it's okay for Klay (not if you remove AG or the pick though), but there's no reason the warriors would want ibaka and a bunch of players that arent ready to be parts of a championship team. Especially since ibaka doesn't fix their rebounding issues.

I would shoot my load if we got Klay but there's probably more chance of me having a threesome with Megan Fox and Mila Kunis.
