Should We Have Made a Play for Howard?

First things first: I'm not advocating that we should have brought Dwight back. I just enjoy the discussion.

His stats through Nov. 15, nine games played:

PTS 15.2
REB 12.4
AST 1.3
HAWKS RECORD: 7-2 (T-2 in conference)

He's obviously having an impact on that Hawks squad with no rumblings of any drama. Granted, his numbers are comparable to those from the 2005-06 season.

Back to the topic and question at hand: knowing now what he's produced in nine games, would you have tried to pick him up this past summer?

Dwight sent this team through the worst 4 years and playoff drought it's ever been through. He ran the best coach our franchise has ever had out of town. He derailed this franchise for years and in my opinion is the main reason we are in the state we are in today. I couldn't be happier we didn't make a play for him, in fact, with the shenanigans he pulled why he was here, I wish he was banned from the city of Orlando. Couldn't be more thankful that Dwight will never dawn a Orlando Magic jersey again.

"knowing what you know now, would you have done things differently in the past when you didn't know those things?"

He'd instantly be our best player, but I don't think we have the shooters to compliment his game. I knew he'd play well for Atlanta with the all the unselfish team first guys they have over there.

No. But glad he finally accepted his lack of talent offensively and just sticks to what he is good at.

Agree. He is a perfect fit for ATL. We have the poor man's version in Bismack, and I personally like Biz a lot more. He just has that great energy and attitude that is easy to root for.

Also Dwight would struggle here. He is not going to put up those types of numbers the way we shoot the ball and play offense. The reason he is perfect for ATL is they launch higher % shots and he cleans glass for easy points. Plus they can post him up and suck the defense back in the paint after he gets a few scores. It's a nice fit. Additionally, Millsap is really good, maybe the perfect guy to have next to him.

I notice his game is a lot more team focused than when he was here. He doesn't log as many minutes and he doesn't get as many touches, but he is good with it. I can't see him being here and not causing a huge stink.

Biyombo could be our Dwight jr if we put him in a starting line up. Would require moving pieces around.

Well to me it looks like he's more involved offensively now than he was in LA or in Houston.
