He's currently shooting 41% from the field and 48% from the FT line.

He's taking 0.3 threes a game at 25% and is only getting to the line 1.9 times per game.

Obviously he will start to shoot better from midrange, but IMO we need to tinker with his offensive game or put him in a different role. There's no reason why he shouldn't be spacing the floor with threes more or getting better position inside. He's one of the big reasons our offense isn't looking at least semi-decent most of these games.

How is Vuc best used? Closer to the basket? Camped out on the three point line? A mix of both? Off the bench? It's clear that the mostly mid-range shooting center/big man isn't in favor anymore, and has been phasing out for a few years now. Unless you're LaMarcus Aldridge... and he shoots 1 three a game as well (should also be on that list).

He needs to shoot threes IMO. A big that doesn't block shots today needs to shoot threes. I could care less about how he does individually I just think it would help the team for him to shoot threes.

I think he needs a re-calibration.

Seriously though, I think he must be injured as he has never been this poor. If that's the case, then I think recovery is the only cure. I just don't think that parking him at the three-point line is really the answer when he is sharing the court with Ibaka. I think he is more effective when he gets down the court quickly and establishes deep position early. It's great if he gets an easy basket, otherwise we know he is very capable of passing out of the post. I really liked the play in our last game when Vucevic went rim-running and Ibaka pulled up the rear for a wide-open three-point shot after Vucevic collapsed the defense.

If Vucevic was in the second unit, I'd just run some pick-and-pop plays with Augustin, as I think both of them are well-suited to work together. There are just more shots there to be had for Vucevic in the second unit. Ibaka is taking a bunch of the looks that Vucevic was getting last year, and frankly he is doing more with them.

I'd love to see him taking and hitting three-point shots, but only if he is sharing the floor with Biyombo. Long shots tend to yield more offensive rebound opportunities, but parking Vucevic out there reduces the number of opportunities he will have to retrieve them. It allows us to space the floor a bit more when Biyombo is on the court while still giving him opportunities on the offensive glass.

Vuc is a big reason why I think we will get better. Once he gets back to his career averages(and he will), our offense will improve greatly to match how well the defense is playing. To a much lesser extent, Jeff Green as well. He won't continue to shoot this bad.

I'm on board with bringing him off the bench and starting Mario and BIz. Gives us a 2nd option if DJ isn't shooting well off the bench and Mario gives better spacing with the starting unit and hopefully the consistent mins gets him playing better.

Elf, Evan, Mario, Ibaka, Biz with DJ, CJ(Meeks), AG, Jeff Green, Vuc off the bench. You gotta think at least 1 of DJ, AG, Green or Vuc will be able to score off the bench every game so we have less long droughts. Plus without Vuc in the starting lineup, hypothetically that would give Ibaka more touches/shots, which I would love.

Probably should either correlate his minutes more with bench units and put him on the block in high-low actions. Serge and Vuc should switch positions because even though Vuc is a better passer he is a better rebounder and should work more inside-out than outside-in. I think getting him going on the inside should have an effect on his shooting touch. Doing this would also give our more mobile big a chance to get back in the picture on defense.

He has been more than decent on the defensive end, vogel didnt expect him to be that good.

I picked up on something Vuc said in an interview the other day. He said he felt he needed to get back to playing as well offensively as he did last year.

I've not checked the stats but I thought he had a pretty poor year last season compared to the one before.

We don't need him back on track. We need to either trade him or cut his minutes drastically. Yes he is talented offensively but as long as he has a prominent role offensively we will never be a winning team. Case example take a look at the very talented Greg monroe. They have opted not to play him although he is extremely talented because he does not fit in a winning system.

Plus he is just the softest teddy bear big man in the nba. Over watched him chat with other teams' players the entire game.

That's what 4 years of watching Vuc take long twos and play below average defense will do to you.

Vuc has the best DRPM on the team this year. that means better than everyone you might think before him. he played some very good defense this season and eye test matches the stats. soo... people should shut up about it for the moment?

what counts is Henningan won the Howard trade

Probably has a little to do with the added wrinkles in the starting lineup. Considering his entire body of work I think he's just in a shooting slump.

We have done enough for Vuc, this time he has to figure it out himself. He is having his worse year and I don't know if he's injured, but it's time to move on from Vuc.

And now we are in 16-17 with 6-8 so far. Since the beginning of the rebuilding, there has been one player consistently playing bIg minutes every year. Everybody else has been traded or walked away. Vucevic gave us a little hope in the beginning when Dwight bailed and I thank him for that. It's 5 years later now and we are no longer tanking. Team is trying to win and make the playoffs. It's time to move on from Vucevic. Five years or this is enough. Thanks Vuc for coming in and taking loyal to us but it's clear that we need a Change in that C position.
