Sweet Lew or E-Blocka

I was curious to know yall's opinion.. who do you think was the better signing? Both were around the same age when joining us, both good but not star worthy, etc.
I remember Sweet Lew starting off slow his first year (bricked a dunk in preseason lol), and the same with E-Blocka (looked a little slow and unenthusiastic the first couple games). Lew turned it around, and Serge is getting better each game.
Who you got??

Different players. Different situation.
But Sweet Lew.
Jury still out on Ibaka though.

Apples and oranges
Lewis was the final piece that turned us into a contender. Ibaka was supposed to turn us into a playoff team. Jury still out on that. Both players filled a huge need at the time they were brought in, but I have to go with Lewis. If not for him, we don't get to the finals in 09.

Something about Shard I always enjoyed watching him play. Low key one of my all time favorite Magicians. Dude was so chill on the court.

Don't make me start crying. Rashard Lewis is one of my all time favorite Magic players. We overpaid the hell out of him by that 2009 team would have never reached the finals w/o him. Ice water runs through his entire vascular system too.
I dont see Ibaka having that big of an impact but hope he proved me wrong.

what I mean
we didnt have to give up young talent to get Shard... there were no other big name targets that fit our needs that year
I take you enjoyed the ride and Ice cold 3 pt daggers winning games though? and his 19 + ppg in the playoffs as he was our 1st scorer Dwight had 18+ ppg if im correct that year when we went to the finals

Ibaka is good but he doesn't have much personality yet. Maybe he is just serious right now about trying to get this thing right in Orlando, and I wouldn't fault him for that. It's still too new.

Well Rashard gave us that one extra piece that put us over the top as a team, so hard to look past him. He also made an all-star team with us. Serge has won me over after a disappointing start though. He's probably been our best player this season.

Rashard Lewis hands down. When he signed with the Magic he averaged somewhere around 25 ppg and was a beast offensive player. He was never "overpaid, his market value was exactly what he got. He didn't get those numbers in Orlando because he was brought in to compliment Howard. Hedo Turkoglu's stellar Magic run unexpectedly lessened his role, but he shot the ball ridiculously well here and helped win a conference title. Ibaka is the exact same player here as in OKC, he's a 15 and 7 guy. Period.

Ibaka is a better player, but Lewis was a huge part of the puzzle for a great team with great players

Exactly. I've said this before- Ibaka is the final piece for a contending team just like Lewis was then. We've got this ass backwards this time.

Really? Ibaka is better than a 2 time All Star?? I suggest you take a look at Rashard Lewis' accomplishments before proclaiming Horace Grant lite a better player. Lewis owns Ibaka in career accomplishment.

I think they are both equal. I am not looking at stats- sure Rashard had a few 20ppg seasons with the Sonics but Ibaka brings defense and other intangibles to the game that are not found on the box score. My only concern with Ibaka is he may not age gracefully and I still suspect he is older than his stated age.

Ibaka's effectiveness declined two straight seasons at 25 years old. He's not lighting it up in Orlando either. Rashard Lewis wasn't known for defense but he was a solid defender with the Magic.

At this point in time, you have to go with Shard. He was a major piece on a championship run and was one of the first of his kind. Now you see stretch 4s all over the nba.

Ibaka is not a better player. Lewis better all around player hands down. Could defend 3/4, had a post game that Ibaka dreams of, could handle the ball. came in as a 20+ppg SF and moved to PF to keep Hedo on the floor.
