What has been your biggest disapointment this season thus far?

What has been your biggest disapointment this season thus far? I've probably missed a few more that I could chuck in. But fire away.

I think my biggest disappointment is our overall effort. I couldn't count how many nights our team has just fell away almost like they just don't care. Along with the defense which is just not there.

3 way tie between Vogel's rotations, lack of chemistry and team defense.

The lack of defense is a direct effect to lack of effort. If you don't play like with effort, all parts of the game will suffer. Defense was suppose to be our calling card and that flopped. Say that is my biggest disappointment.

Lack of a star player

I put lack of team chemistry. The team lost it's heart when Dipo left.

Henny chose to build around Vuc instead of Dipo. I like Serge and understand why, but I do miss Dipo.

Payton, Oladipo, Gordon was the future I was banking on.

Team defense and it's not even close.

Let me get this straight.... henny chose to build around Vucevic by replacing him with Biyombo? Weren't you one of the guys hyping up Biyombo? Careful what you wish for...

Henny chose to build around Ibaka... and it was a terrible decision in hindsight.

Vogel. It's almost impressive how disappointing he's been.

Hennigan. You don't lose by 20 all these nights because your substitution schedule was off. Vogel a close second, for failing to come up with even a thread of offensive identity other than "trust the pass" when all a pass does is put the ball in someone's hands that the odds say is shooting worse than the person who passed it.

I'm still not as down on Biyombo as the rest of you. I think he's a role player who would look a lot better playing around stars than developmental players... it's just that we aren't there yet. I consider this season a developmental one, so I'm not as disappointed in our season. If I thought this was the pinnacle of Henny's vision and a team that has "arrived" in it's full potential then I would be fully aboard blowing this up.

I disagree that Henny chose to build around Ibaka. Ibaka was a highly attractive piece because he was theoretically the ideal fit next to Vucevic. So he gave up on Dipo to get the unicorn next to Vuc. That said, I don't think Vuc was the only person he chose to build around. I would also include Payton, Gordon and to a lesser degree Fournier as players Henny chose to build around. It's just that he chose Vuc over Dipo.... and to add on that, he chose Gordon over Harris...

Personally, I would've kept Dipo and dumped Vuc/Fournier. I still feel like today that we should dump those 2. Though with Vuc picking up on defense lately, my cries for dumping him have softened. Surely, I think we can both agree things look a little messy at the moment while we wait for Payton and Gordon to have a true breakout season.

Team defense easily.

Vogel's track record shows his rotations are awkward. Lack of chemistry was bound to be an issue due to adding 9 new players that don't fit. Given all the question marks, playoffs always seemed like a pipe dream IMHO. And I never thought Hezonja would be this bad, but it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that he just wasn't good.

But I really expected this team to be a lot better on defense. It was the one thing I felt that this team could hang its hat on nightly. Adding Vogel who has had a top 10 defense in almost all his seasons at Indiana, 2 elite rim protectors in Ibaka and Biyombo, and the defensive potential of Payton and Gordon, I was almost sure that this team would pull off a top 10 defense. They aren't even among top 20; they've regressed from last season and I still can't figure out how this team is so bad on defense. At this point, I'm blaming it on a combination of lack of effort that is compounded when shots don't fall, poor discipline, poor communication, and low IQ.

Henny traded two good assets for ibaka and was willing to pay him 30 million per year... lol of course he wanted to build around him. To a lesser extent he was building around Elf as well... a lot of people agreed fournier made more sense next to him than dipo. Henny obviously picked Gordon over Harris, but I wouldn't say we're building around him yet considering the fluid position switching. At this point it seems pretty obvious Vuc was never intended to continue starting this season. We gave a defensive center big money and then Vogel benched Vuc real quick at a time when he was hustling his ass off and doing everything that was asked of him. Then Biz was left in the starting lineup even when he was playing like ass for weeks. If we were building around Vuc he wouldn't be averaging 13 fga and he wouldn't have been benched so quickly. You don't demote a player you're building around. It all backfired though... the defensive coach... defensive bigs... it made no impact on our defense and now whatever plans henny made are going to have to be revamped (probably by another gm).

Defense and effort. Looking back now when we drastically changed the roster I can now see that not having a continuity of players can change the chemistry of guys(2014 Indiana). On our defense Biz has been disappointing and Ibaka just isn't on the right timeline for our team or the league in general now guarding more wing players.

For me my greatest disappointment is the pilling losses.

I am a bit surprised with the answers given one choice: "Not in the playoff picture." Competitive sports is about winning games. The Magic is considerably worse than I forecasted.

This season is sadly over before the All Star Week. Sad.
