Boston seems like a logical trade partner with Ibaka or Vuc getting moved I want Yabussela coming back. That kid is talented and has a solid frame. Would mesh well with AG.

It will be so hard to clean this mess of a roster with so much garbage, old , proven bad vets on long deals.
Looking at players that Magic should look to move: Ibaka- teams can wait for 2 and half months and get him in FA.
Vučević needs specific roster around him to save him from pick&roll defense. It's hard to do that in middle of a season.
Nobody will touch Biyombo and his 4 years deal.
Nobody will touch Augustin who was bounced around 5 teams in few years because he simply isn't good. He shoots WAAY too much for backup PG and can't defend. How he got multi year deal is still beyond me.
Green is just awful deal in year where not a single team needs expiring deal.
So Magic , in order to move any of them, need to use pick or young player(s) to make better offers, and that would be suicide because they actually only have 3 young player (after 4 years of lottery ). Play it simple , that Harris trade ruined team, than they went in overkill with Ibaka trade and awful FA where they just collected bunch of 30 years old garbage .

The Magic have reportedly begun to pick up their attempts to move Serge Ibaka by the trade deadline.
The Magic have reportedly made everyone on their roster available, but they're most interested in moving either Ibaka or Nikola Vucevic for a wing scorer in order to move Aaron Gordon back to his true position at power forward. Ibaka will almost assuredly walk as a free agent this offseason, so the Magic may want to try and get what they can now rather than lose him for nothing. Thus far, the Raptors, Wizards, Celtics, Pacers, Rockets, Trail Blazers and Spurs have all expressed interest, but to be clear, nothing is imminent at the moment. Jan 30 - 5:41 PM

The C's are looking to improve their rebounding, defense and low-post scoring. Vucevic fits the bills, as he has consistently been among the NBA's leaders in double-doubles over the last few seasons. He also has a very cap-friendly contract (two years remaining at $12.3 million in 2017-18 and $12.8 million in 2018-19). The C's have plenty of assets, but this report does not specify what Boston would consider sending back to Orlando. A trade to Boston would likely have minimal impact on Vucevic's fantasy value, as he'd have a similar role. It would open extra playing time in Orlando for Bismack Biyombo and Serge Ibaka. Several teams around the league have reportedly inquired about the availability of Mario Hezonja.
Teams are reportedly low-balling the Magic on Hezonja due to fear of attitude issues, but the Magic won't be trading away their No. 5 overall selection from the 2015 draft simply for the sake of moving him. Hezonja is talented, but he hasn't been able to find a spot in Frank Vogel's rotation despite the team going through a rebuild, so a change of scenery could only be good for his value. That being said, Hezonja is more of a wait-and-see guy than a stash candidate in most scenarios. Jan 30 - 5:46 PM

they need to take back the best package, but need to stop holding out hope that we get both players and picks. It is going to be best pick or best player, not both. Ibaka only under contract for 30 more games, teams arent going to throw in the kitchen sink for that little amount

It still makes no sense. From 2012 until today he played for: Indiana,Toronto, OKC, Bulls, Pistons,Charlotte and Nuggets. And Magic. if you are bounced around THAT much you are probably not good at what you do. And there goes Rob with 4 years offer for 29 years old bounced-eveywhere PG ?
His deal is not as bad as Biyombos but it a loooooooooong one for somebody who is 30 years old backup.

dont get me wrong, i agree that i hated DJ's contract when i heard it. I wanted it similar to what we did with Watson, 3 yrs, only first 2 guaranteed. but we continue to have the rep that we dont do our players right, even though we helped out Harkless and didnt stop Kyle O'Quinn even though we could (and probably should) have kept him.

Biyombo is 24 and his 4-year deal will not result in a physical decline. His deal will be the standard for main bench Center.
Fournier is also 4 years old and thus has a good contract for a starter.
Green is expiring.

I don't think DJ would be that bad if he played with scorers around him on a good team for 10-20mpg. But, when you put him in a lineup where he is one of the few options on the floor, he will try to do too much himself.

FYI. CJ played pretty good last night so he wasn't payed to not play.
Bizmark is by far the worst contract on the roster. His cap eating salary will strap the team for years like Ben Garbage and Charlie Vanillanueva did for the Pistons, but not nearly as bad. At least Bizmark hustles and is a great bench big to have for 10-20mpg, but just not at his salary.

Seems like things are picking up in terms of teams looking to trade for one of our bigs. Gonna be sad to see one of them go but it definitely looks like one or both are gone.

Watson's deal is actually only $1M guaranteed next season. We can waive him and save $4M. Not the "worse". I'd say Biz has the title, but if he becomes starting C, with AG at PF, and we thrive...won't be a bad contract.

Magic tied 4 years -$98M into Biyombo and DJ Augustin. One is 29 today, other is awful. That's max salary of one superstar in the league that Magic waste on two backups.
Next year Gordon and Payton will probably sign extensions ( like 2013 class signed this year), in league where Oladipo gets $21M per year, Giannis $22M per year it's hard to imagine that Gordon will get lower than $18 and Payton lower than $12-$14M.
In same time you still have Evan in books with $17M and Vučević on $12,7M .
Without doing anything , and just by resiging Ibaka, this team would have payroll of $98M next year tied on 9 players (and some of them are Zimmerman, CJ and Hezonja who don't even play that much) and that's BEFORE they sign Gordon and Payton extensions.
if they let Ibaka walk for nothing it will mean that in 2 years they let :Harris, Oladipo,Sabonis,Frye and Harkless walk and literally got 51-60 second round pick in 2020-maybe.
Problem is simple, they don't have much assets that you can trade for star, or potential star, they don't have young talent that you can hope will become a star, and you have history that shows you that in FA Magic will never get star. And this is star driven league . Without star you are wasting time, swimming in mediocrity. And above all that team has no clear direction ,identity or idea what they are trying to be. They are , for two years now, lottery team that views itself as playoff team, and what makes things worst, they are not even close to playoffs.
