It really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that the Orlando Magic traded Serge Ibaka for pennies on the dollar. He simply didn’t fit in with the team after being acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder during the summer.

Now comes this report suggesting that certain unnamed Magic players are happy to see Ibaka now playing up north with the Toronto Raptors.

Saw this. Who are your guesses? It's obvious to me, but I want to hear other's opinions.

Bigger problem is that Vogel has issues with how our youngsters want to play.

"pennies on the dollar"--I swear, this season, every media outlet has enjoyed kicking us while we have been down. I also noticed NBA in general on Facebook LOVES posting highlights against us-- a lot of the time when we win. We got back a decent return in my opinion. Oladipo is NOT some gem of the NBA. He's a nice player that will be a decent starter capable of having great games here and there. TRoss is probably a bit less so, but virtually the same player in totality. We also got back a draft pick that isn't a lottery pick, but again, not a "pennies on the dollar" return.

anyway, my guess is Fournier and probably Elf simply because I would have anticipated some awesome alley-oops/ give and go's/pick and rolls with an athletic big and Elf-- not so much this season.

Fournier just simply seems like he's frustrated by the fact that he's working hard, but isn't what he wants to be for the team.

Multiple sources have informed me Serge didn't bond with the team because he could never get over Zim's **** up elbow.

Until proven otherwise, it's pennies on the dollar. We traded a guy that was a key component on a team that was 1 win away from the NBA Finals last year, for a career backup SG and a late first. We can be as optimistic as we want to be, it's not the medias job to assume a player will be better than he has been thus far in his career.

Ross could end up being better than Serge, but it's not their job to project that. As of right now he's a career 10ppg, 42% shooter that has done his best work as a 6th man. If he steps into a greater role for us, that's awesome. Don't take offense to people thinking Toronto "won" the trade.

But I don't think there's anything surprising about this news. Serge never was one of the guys. Probably didn't even hang out with these guys in his free time.

So let me get this straight.... so a bunch of no name scrubs on the Orlando Magic with ZERO playoff and all-star berths, All-defensive team awards thinks that Serge Ibaka, 3 time All-Defensive First Team who played a prominent role in a NBA finals, is not a good fit.

Seriously the insane are running the asylum. Whoever these scrubs who want to criticize Ibaka need to get kicked off this team ASAP. We don't need losers like them.

Maybe because Vogel knows they are not good and been overrated.

Skiles had issues too, so he quit on them.
Maybe Vaughn's tenure created wrong culture here?

But Henny got rid of 2/3 of the team before this season started, so how that didn't change?
Maybe he got rid of wrong players?

And maybe we need to get rid of everyone and start from scratch.
Maybe?

Clearly Vuc and Evan are two of the players that did not like Serge, I'm also thinking Jeff Green is in there too. The other ones would be just pure guesses, but I'll say Elf is the only other guy I could see having a problem with Serge but Idk.

Was Serge a "key component on a team that was 1 win away from the NBA finals last year" when he came to us, or was he a guy that lost a step, was playing behind Stephen Adams and Kanter, was simply a spot shooter, and was allegedly much older than his stated age? I seem to remember everyone outside of Orlando hinting at the latter to put it nicely... about half of this board as well...

Pleeeeeeeeeeease get out with that.

Elf got him the ball so i would be surprised if it's him, not that he liked him but he seems pretty beige on Serge. Now CJ Watson.....

I would guess Vuc and Evan.

We are also talking about a guy who demanded more touches while playing alongside two MVP level players. Same guy that froze out his backup point guard because he wasn't getting the ball as much as he wanted. Same guy Durant wanted to trade for Love. Same guy that was traded for Oladipo/rookie before Durant decided to leave OKC. Same guy that bitched about playing behind Pau and Marc Gasol in the Olympics and deliberately distanced himself from teammates off the court. Same guy whose best friend was publicly hinting they were ready to ship out for a while. Same guy who wasn't happy the way Vogel used him. Perhaps Ibaka is not the best communicator and team player?
