I apologize if this has been posted, haven't been on much this season as its literally been depressing as a fan, but decided to jump on here when our board leaked. I searched but didn't see anything. Did anyone read this article? Thoughts?

Considering his hair is longer and more obtrusive than ever and he's shooting 70% and 47% from the floor (both highs), I don't think it has much impact, at least more than a less than optimal shooting form. That being said, he has commented on it a few times in interviews and I think he's going to do something with it over the summer.

The ball does touch his hair on every free throw (while the ball is still in his hands), but he's been shooting over 70% since January, which is easily the best of his career, so I'm not sure how much of a detriment it is to his shot.

I do think it's about time he gets a more practical hairstyle though.

Yeah I didn't think much of it, and he has been improving as well. I'm a big fan of elf and honestly I just feel he needs some higher quality players around him, just thought it was interesting they did so much research on it

I'm pretty certain (or at least I'd hope so) that if his hair was an actual impairment on his game that the coaches would have already had a quiet word with him about it. I doubt Elf is so 'vain' that he'd choose that cut over being better.

He is looking more like a childish clown now that he has had that hair for 3 years now. Time to grow up.

Haha, just teasing. I just think it's funny that there's a serious discussion about whether or not someone's hair is affecting their play.

I guess he is like Samson from the bible. The longer hair, the better for him.

It's no longer about looks And how it affects your shot but more about being a professional adult. Elf is going into his 4th year and it's time to grow up. If he really is gonna be one of our core pieces moving forward, then he needs to look and behave like a pro. He has already proven himself in the community so now it's time to fix that look.

Let's all be honest here. If his shooting weren't an issue and we were winning NO ONE would have a problem with his hair. I bet people would still love it. I don't remember people telling Ben Wallace to grow up and get rid of the fro, or Birdman to get rid of his mohawk and beard. Sure there were some who thought he should, but most fans embraced it because it looked cool.

I'm not saying Elf shouldn't cut his hair. I think he should because it's a distraction and I do think it could be affecting his shot. But this whole "it's about being a professional" thing is a cop out in a sport where "looking professional" is a pretty loose term.

This is true. Im not using it as a scapegoat but most have pointed out that it DOES affect his shot. The rise Marcus Smart saw after his cut is just a small sample size of evidence.

Being a professional in sports is not overstated. Ask the Spurs. That organization prides itself on worth ethic and professionalism. At this point for Elfrid is more about maturity with the extra benefit that it will help your shot.
