The Bucks hired a GM in waiting a few years ago who was going to take over after Hammond left/retired. I'd personally love a Lloyd/Hammond front office. Hammonds draft record speaks for itself and he did as much as he could in Milwaukee's market/proximity to Chicago. I think we are heading in a better direction than before. Hopefully this gets done today so both Hammond and Weltman are at the PC tomorrow.

Excellent. It made zero sense to bring in a PBO and not let him chose his GM. Just reeks of incompetence and mismanagement from ownership. I was really confused as to why so many assumed Lloyd was a shoe-in for GM.

This on the other hand, makes a lot of sense.

Good drafter, really bad at FA/extensions, although there's a lot of noise in his tenure, as the decision structure in MKE was really tangled in the last 15 years and the % of meddling in his job is unknown. IMO needs desperately a good CBA guy in his staff.

Im pretty sure that fans forgave every sin he committed after finding and locking up Giannis.

Hammond has made some bonehead free agent signings over the years though. That kinda concerns me but it can't be worse than 17mil per season for Biz or actually showing interest in someone like Jeff Green.

Great drafter, mixed bag in trades (the positives are to fix the mistakes he makes in the next part), AWFUL in free agency. Good luck.
