It looks like Jeff Weltman cost something.

The Magic will send the least favorable of their own and The L.A. Lakers own 2018 second round pick to Toronto for letting new President of Basketball operations Jeff Weltman out of his contract.

I think it is a good hire but it is a bummer surrendering that second round pick.

Well, if it's gonna come out like the Heat where we gave up a 2nd(???) for SVG,arguably the greatest coach of this franchise, then it's a small price to pay.

We couldn't come out of these hires without any bad PR tied to it, wouldn't be the true Magic brand.

Wow, that's like a funny kind of non-compete deal, but sounds like it's more for protecting us than it is Toronto.

I swear some of you are just impossible to satisfy, if we went 71 and 1 next year you guys would blame Alex Martins for that 1 loss and says its because of us losing that 2nd rounder, you look for anything to complain about

Didn't think he was worth anymore than that. He didn't really crack the rotation when he was there and probably is probably going to get more playing time here... Good value trade for the Magic though...

Also it seems unenforceable. Both teams could sign a waiver to allow it, and then it would be allowed. But by wanting to trade X for Y, that is the same thing.

This only makes sense if imposed by the league. But there, the CBA gets in the way.

I see no value in this at all: for either team.

Im sorry i forgot to add a sentence there, once we lost that first game thats when most on here would start there fire this guy, trade that guy, season is over rants and say its cuz of this trade
