T-Rob, pennytoshaq, Mannchild and The Effect share first place in Orlando Board Mock Draft Competition

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Tue Jun 20, 2017 1:08 am

For those interested, you can enter this mock draft competition where you make your projection on who gets drafted at each spot in the lottery.

The competition determines who on the forum has the best scouting and random prediction skills and in turn the most accurate mock draft. Simply follow the link below to make your projection on who gets drafted at each spot in the lottery. The winner gets the board title of 2017 Magic Forum Draft Champ (if they want it), bragging rights in next year's draft threads, and And1s from all.

Scoring:
This is golf, not bowling. Points are bad. And you will get points for how far off you were on that player being picked. For example, if you picked a guy to go 6th, and he went 10th, you get 4 points. The poster with lowest point total wins.

To Play:

------> MAKE YOUR MOCK DRAFT SELECTIONS HERE <------

After you make your submission you'll be greeted with this page:

It is strongly recommended that you open the "Edit your response" link and bookmark it - this link is unique to your submission and can be used to make any edits at any time all the way up to the start of the draft.

We encourage you to also post your mock draft order in this thread for discussion purposes - but remember whatever is in your Google Form submission is what will be scored.

If you have any queries or concerns about the submission, feel free to ask them in this thread or PM me or batsmasher!

For an example here is a link to last year's competition. Suns 2016 Mock Draft Competition

A huge thanks to batsmasher for creating the google doc. Impressive work there.

I'm gonna sticky this, think it might be fun for our posters to be able to put their hats in the ring.

4. Suns - Jayson Tatum
5. Kings - DeAaron Fox
6. Magic - Jonathan Isaac

10. Kings - Luke Kennard
11. Hornets - Donovan Mitchell
12. Pistons - Frank Ntilikina

For what it's worth, I personally believe that some team will surprise people and pick Giles in the top 14 but I'm not confident enough to put in that to put that on my list. Lol

Yeah, if you put someone at 14, and the guy slips to like 25, it hurts the score badly. Some people on the Suns forum did really well last year but missed one by a long shot.

Actually it was 2015, where I tabulated manually, which took forever, and last year our participation doubled. But you can see the scores and notes here..about which picks hurt people badly...

Last year I was taking a while to grade and batsmasher (now a mod) stepped in and did it in no time somehow.

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1394673

Weird thing is in 2015 a score of 16 won and last year a score of 41 won with far more participants.

I did one yesterday but forgot to copy it on here. It was mostly what everyone thinks will happen so I'm sure it will be among the worst.

This is tough, and a crapshoot at the moment. I think there will be some trades so I'll have players at spots that may not make sense, I'm not gonna guess the team that trades it just where I think the traded team will take them.

1. Philadelphia: Fultz
2. Los Angeles: Ball
3. Boston: Tatum
4. Phoenix (traded): Jackson
5. Sacramento: Smith Jr.
6. Orlando: Isaac
7. Minnesota: (traded): Fox
8. New York: Ntilikina
9. Dallas: Monk
10. Sacramento (traded): Mitchell
11. Charlotte: Kennard
12. Detroit: Markkanen
13. Denver: Anunoby
14: Miami: Collins

Submitted a second one cause I'm a dumb dumb that forgot to bookmark the edit page.
