I won't overreact until a good 10-20 games into the NBA season and one of them plays great or very badly, lol.

I mean if you expect Isaac to score 20 plus you are going to be disappointed. I don't see that as his game, he is going to fill up the stat sheet in other ways. Defense, Rebounding, and knock threes down. I think he will show more in the next few games.

I loved that he didn't look out of position (that often) and that he recovers quickly.

At FSU he also liked to hound the inbounder/point guard who brought the ball up.

Agree. The cool thing is that he has the potential to be a scorer too down the road. His IQ is so high, combined with his skillset, he has a chance of becoming a complete stud. He is a lot less raw than Gordon when AG first did SL, and now he's putting up 16 ppg from the 4 spot. I think Isaac hits those numbers or more by year 2.

It's also less about how he fits in with random SL scrubs and more about how he'll fit in with our roster.

Isaac splits screens well and finds himself open a lot underneath the basket. I bet Payton hits that more time than not compared to the SL/his FSU days, Hezonja will find him too. He also seems to be really good on weakside defense which we need help on. I can't wait to see him and AG work together.

I agree if you watch Gordon from year one to year two in the summer league it was a huge jump. I think Isaac looks so much more fluid on defense now than Gordon did in year one.

I also liked that Isaac seemed to challenge a lot at the rim. If he ever puts on weight, we might have a special center.

Would like to see him work on ball handling, but this is like the PRE-K of his career.

Do we have his rights?

I don't know. I do know no one else has them yet, or he wouldn't be playing for Orlando.

Why are some overreacting to a summer league game of a team showcasing a Rookie who is a known project. It's going to be a few years before you get credible results anyway. From I've read seems like he played a very good defensive game which is very encouraging. He doesn't have much confidence in his offensive game which has been a problem of his even when he was playing in FSU. Though he has certain abilities it's obvious it's going to take some time before he's comfortable with the ball in his hands. It's going to be a process...

I was impressed with Wesleys defense today. Also his shot creating ability looks solid.

Pro Isaac vs Anti Isaac on the RealGM Magic boards. This is going to be entertainment like the Elf debate, isn't it...

I'm ready

What I take away from today is: So the magic play again tomorrow? Isaac apparently had jitters and maybe lack of conditioning? He didn't play that much today so he'll be ready for tomorrow. We really like Derrick Walton, one the question is does he get a guaranteed contract to join the 15 man roster or if not I'm pretty sure Walton will get one of the 2 way contract offers.

Isaac and Iwundu should be on the 15 man roster, I just don't know if Walton is getting a guaranteed contract or the 2 way contract?

Depending on how well he does it'll probably be a 2 way or a make good contract. We'll see how he does the rest of the week but today he looked good running the team he was one of the biggest reasons we came back and tied it.

I didn't have huge expectations for Isaac today. Was just looking to see some effort and hustle and whatever more came out of that the better. He'll make the biggest impact on the defensive end right away similar to how AG did when he was a rookie.

Isaac got the 3rd most minutes, for the 1st game in a while that was probably perfect.
I'd like to hear the coach talk about walton, if he's been good in practice, don't mess a round and offer him something.

We have no rights to Walton Jr. Any team can sign him at any moment. Just because he is in our sl team doesn't mean anything.

the ProSaacs. Very fitting.

AntiSaacs isn't as clever. But I'm not gonna help them with their branding.
