He was really bad at summer league, but I wasn't expecting this.
Hopefully, this opens up a spot for DWJ, who was amazing in the last couple of days, but we're going to need some other big body down there for garbage minutes.

Not surprised. Wasn't a fan but it always sucks seeing someone get fired. Hope he saved his checks from last year.

Last season, a few people were saying Zim was better than Vooch, but needed more minutes to prove himself, lol

Yeah, I wanted Zimmerman in the draft last year but he ended up being garbage at every aspect of the game. Hopefully we see him again in 4-5 years with another team.

The Magic had to make a decision as his contract was going to become guaranteed.
Given how their could be some free agent bargains and Zimmerman's iffy play this Summer League, I think it was the right decision.
Zimmerman needs a lot of work as a player but some development in the G-League could continue to help him.

It would be too hard to search the threads where people said this, but some did. I don't care if you didn't see it, but those that did will agree with me and those that said it probably won't chime in here to admit it.

To be fair, he was highly touted out of highschool.
And the small ball era killed his chances to be a productive pro. Theres no room for back to the basket players these days. Imo.

When Costello started ahead of him in summer league getting the majority of the minutes and Zimmerman's play was getting worse, I had a feeling the writing was on the wall. He should of stayed in school and worked on his game and body.

And to think this kid was predicted to be a first round pick at one point. Also he was super happy to be drafted here.
Im bummed for him actually. Best of luck!

I never said he was better than Vuc, but I certainly would have been more interested in watching him play last year compared to Vuc. Just because I'm bored.
