As long as it's not a five year deal that obliterates any cap flexibility I'm fine with him on a short deal. He helps our bench, and makes the team a bit deeper.

Nicholson's old school back to the basket game is about 20 years too late for the new NBA. I'll take the guy who shot 37% from 3 last year for a team desperately needing 3 point shooting.

Apparently it's a minimum deal.

This is a good add but I think it makes it more likely Vucevic is moving since Biyombo would be tough to trade.

Probably does indicate Vucevic is on borrowed time, although Vuc is still the best player on the roster. Speights doesn't change that. I've said since the draft it'd be all low price free agents instead of one for all the cap. The Magics depth will hopefully turn into a strength now.

Like I said earlier I like the potential signing, especially for the minimum. He gives the Magic shooting which is what we definitely need. Also, while I don't think it necessarily mean Vuc or Biz will be traded, most likely Vuc, Jeff has made it pretty clear he wants flexibility and this will give them the option to move one of them if a good deal comes around.

Being Speights averages like 10-15mpg the past few years, there is no reason to assume that the Magic will automatically move their other centers. He isn't going to play much. Probably, more for mentoring with his history of playing for great teams the past few years.

Unfortunately he's a gator, but he should bring some good veteran presence to the team.

If its for the minimum I am happy with it. Could be a good trade assest for teams that need scoring off the bench. Shot 38% from 3 as a big last year- thats valuable. Also still only 29.

Since they spent #6 on a Nole, they had to appease the other half somehow.

You guys do realize that Speights played his college ball for the Florida Gators right? That's definitely a factor, possibly the biggest factor in the Magic. This is going to be awesome we about to have 1 FSU guy in Isaac and 1 Florida Gator guy in Speights. We had a Florida Gator in the past also in Mike Miller.

Is our 15 man roster complete now? I think we were looking for 1 more guy and looks like Speights might be the 17th. Now we are start guessing on who our 2 way contract players are.

I'm guessing Walton Jr and maybe Elgin Cook are the 2 way contract guys. Walton Jr seems definite but i'm guessing on the 2nd one.
