For me those things are in order....


1) Vucevic traded by the All-Star break. Guys like him are a liability in today's game. He has no value. Hopefully some front office is stuck in the dark ages, and gives us a minor asset for him. But I would literally deal him for nothing. I'd be okay with flat out releasing him.

2) Jonathan Isaac in the starting lineup by January 1st. Young players need lots of playing time. He will make lots of mistakes. That's part of the process. He can't be benched if he struggles. Play through it.

3) For the offense to be mostly through Payton, Gordon, and Isaac. We need to know what we have, so we can move forward if Payton and Gordon can't do the job.

1. For a leader to either emerge from the current group, or acquired during the season. This team plays and conducts itself like a bunch of gnats. Vogel is the leader but the Magic need one on the court. And no, Payton, Gordon, or Vucevic won't be that guy. I think Afflalo wins by default.

2. A go to scorer needs to emerge. Issac is probably the guy you'd target here, but that's 2-3 years out in all likelihood. Vuc probably keeps that role this season though, but we need a killer like Kobe on this team.

3. Elite defense. Vogel is a good defensive coach and this roster has the potential to be good on D. If anything happens this season, it need to be this to set a foundation for the coming years.

1) Isaac proves to be worth the pick. By that I mean we see a player who should earn multiple all-defensive teams in his career while also showing flashes of a player who can average close to 20ppg.

2) The Gordon / Elf show either moves to prime time or is canceled. Extensions are looming. We have to learn soon what they are worth. Bad decisions here can be costly. Tough decions need to be made.

3) A "blow it up" trade. Likely such a trade will involve some combination of Vuc, Fournier, Elf or Ross. This group just isn't working. Shuffle the deck.

1) Playoffs
2) Huge progress from AG/Elf/Isaac/Mario
3) Consistency

1) progress with young players
2) not having top 3 worst points differential again
3 ) clear direction

If we could get out of that contract I'd be stoked.

1. Isaac eventually playing 25 mins, spearheading a confusing, long-limbed, nightmarish defense and spreading the floor.
2. Hezonja finding his swagger and leading an explosive bench with 15ppg and 5 highlight assists
3. Payton and Simmons emerging as the emotional vocal leaders the team needs (with Afflalo taking on the bench sage leadership role and contributing in many ways on the court.)

3.b...I'd really like to see the Magic play a "modern style" of position-less offense, BUT see Vuc regain his post effectiveness and abuse match ups with other teams trying to play "modern"...if the floor gets spread, and Vuc plays like he did a couple years ago - he was unstoppable in the traditional post one-on-one.

1. Isaac proves he's our future star.
2. Bismack's and DJ's contract and shipped out
3. Vogel starts to understand what the word" flexibility" means.

1. That Issac shows that he will be a star, no flashes here and there but star like qualities to where it can be said he will be a star evnetually.
2. Offense that is actually interesting to watch. Last year was the most boring Magic team since I started watching in 93.
3. Playoffs. Lets be honest management will not make this team tank so make the playoffs.

1. Trades by all star break - 2/3 of the roster should be gone from the previous management.

2. Play the youth to see what we have.

3. Have a defined plan for next years rotation.

These are manageable goals and not just "Isaac needs 30 minutes".

1. Roster clarity
2. Young players given more opportunity
3. Tanking

1. Rational evaluation by new management of all talent on the team
2. Trades for better talent or future picks
3. Better player development

1) Fournier and Vucevic get traded.
2) Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac become our 2 leading scorers.
3) Jonathan Simmons' swag becomes infectious to the rest of the team.

1) A leader
2) Playoffs
3) Rational evaluation prior to trade deadline.

1. Payton and Gordon in the starting lineup, and left there all year.

2. Isaac given consistent minutes to grow.

3. Vogel figure out how to make the pieces fit together.

Well, not that hard to do. If they trade Biz, DJ and Mario (which they should), it's exactly 2/3 gone. Green, Meeks, Rudez, Watson, Zimmerman, Garino and Georges-Hunt are already out.

1. Good team defense
2. Subs/minutes/rotations that make sense from Vogel
3. Improved shooting from everybody, Vucevic adding a 3 pt/FT aspect to his game
