I don't think it matters... Vogel isn't going to allow an assistant to dictate how to run his "no plays" offense.

We need experienced personal regardless of reputation. It's been 5 yrs of bad style playing and last year Vogel didn't light the league on fire with his "defensive schemes" and probably was hired due to his defensive reputation (which is vastly over.-rated IMHO, but that's a whole other story). We were in the leagues bottom five in almost every defensive metric last season, if Whittman can help with that GREAT.

I know the right players are as important as the coaches but Randy definatelly will help at D.
He can keep in line "stars" and veterans and demand hard work at court and in practice.
I thought Vogel and Brooks are defencive coaches but after last season I think they both are way overrated.

A GM does not hire a video review guy to replace a head coach. It is usually the lead assistant that takes over in an interim basis. I would guess Corliss Williamson would get the nod over Chad Forcier.
