The Magic have re-signed Damjan Rudez to a non-guaranteed deal.

As speculated in the article, he is likely competing with Khem Birch for the 15th roster spot.

That puts the roster at 19 players with one spot in camp left.

Rudez shouldn't be in the NBA. He better not make the cut.

Thank god. For a second I thought Isaac or Hezonja might actually see the court. Phew.

I was so excited to see his mug shot gone from the Magic's website. Hopefully this is just delaying the inevitable.

I actually like Rudez. Seems to be a good veteran to have around and is a euro and seems to be good friends with Vuc/Fournier/HezGOD (Is that his nickname still LMAO?)

It's non-guaranteed and has ties with Vogel and probably prepping his after basketball career with the club.

Also, IF he out plays ANY of the other players and get's signed he fully deserves it because if you're getting outplayed by Rudez you simply don't belong in the NBA.

No. People just panic sometimes. All teams need a vet presence on the team.

Vet presence? Rudez has been in the league three years... and he's sucked/barely played in two of them. We could do better than Rudez if we're going for vet presence. Afflalo is vet presence. Speights is vet presence. Rudez is just a random dude that's managed to linger in the league because Vogel has a hard on for him...

RUUUUDEZ

If he beats out the others for that last spot he'll have earned it so no issue for me. He's not meant to blow your socks off. Hes meant to be a cheerleader at the end of the bench and on the off chance he gets in the game to not mess up and hit a shot every now and then.

That's a slight overreaction. Rudez is 31 and hasn't only played in the NBA, so vet presence is an accurate description. It doesnt really matter to be honest he's an end of the bench player.

I thought about that, but then I remembered he'd be out of the NBA already if not for Vogel putting his career on life support... so not sure how much that past experience in a completely different league really helps. What vet presence would he be providing that we can't get from any other vet? He's not vocal, he's not a leader, his play style doesn't raise the level of competition in practice and he's not even that good of a sideline cheerleader.
