Draft guidelines (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
1) We'll start with a 24 hour clock for the opening of Round 1. This should give everyone a chance to realize the draft started. After 24 hours from the start, the time limit for each pick will be 6 hours. Starting in Round 2 it will be 4 hours. After Round 5, the clock reduces to 3 hours. The clock will only run from 6 AM EST - 12 MIDNIGHT EST. This is a little different format from years past, but we are starting the draft later and the NBA season starts sooner. Please be aware of your spot in the draft and keep up with the progress in order to avoid being skipped.
2) Please notify the person picking after you after you make your pick. Work it out with them if you prefer email or text. If you notify the person after you, please say something in the discussion thread so that others are aware and don't send duplicate emails/texts.
3) Send a list or big board to someone else to make your pick if you think you might miss the deadline to make your pick. The person you send a board to doesn't have to be a member of this league.
4) Check the progress of the draft before you leave the forums. You would be surprised to know how many times I have seen posters posting in other threads and then leaving the forums for the day/night without realizing they were OTC the whole time.
5) If you make a trade, an even number of assets must be swapped. If 1/3 of the league (5 posters) veto the trade then it will not be allowed.
6) The "Edrock" Rule - The draft continues even if you picked someone that was already taken.
7) The "stick" Rule - If you get skipped 3 times, then your clock gets cut in half. Feel free to send in big boards or leave a cell # to text you when you're OTC. People say they respond to emails, but we've learned that is not always the case.
8) Picks that come at the end of each round (1st and 14th) do not have a clock allowance for each pick. For example, you don't have 8 hours to pick the 14th and 15th selections. You only have the 4 hour allotted time for both picks.
9) If you REALLY want a fun league, then please keep this thread alive and pumping throughout the season. AN ACTIVE DISCUSSION THREAD = A FUN LEAGUE. I know this from experience. Humor, Action and Fighting make for a great league! lol
