So Hayward snapped his ankle in half. That sucks

Feel so bad for Gordon Hayward. Hate to see someone go down at any point. Dilutes the game far too much for us fans smh. Sounds like a fractured left tibia and dislocated ankle. Should heal fine if there's no ligament damage. Much longer road to recovery if ligaments were included. Seemed more like a high ankle fracture when it happened, avoiding some of the ligaments, so there is some hope on that end.

Also, I don't know if they doused Hayward with pain meds or reduced that fracture in the locker room, but he actually handled the pain exceptionally well. :o

He moves to new team that should be contender, gets 5 years deal and gets F-ed up in first official game after 5 min. Are Danny Ainge
and Bill Simmons on suicide watch?

Fortunately for the Celtics, they have two young studs in Jaylen and Tatum who appear to be rising talents and with those extra minutes now that Crowder and Hayward out, they will improve greatly as the season progresses. I think the team will be fine and 50-55 wins is still not an issue, but making to the finals will be very hard to do now.

Yea the thing I noticed the most is how well he handled the pain. He had like a slight grimace.

Adrenaline rush. Was probably much worse by the time he got to the hospital.

Agreed on Gordon Hayward. I don’t like to see anyone go through that.

So the Ws got upset after their ring ceremony... that sorta made me chuckle.

Agree. I broke my leg playing sports in school as a teenager and the pain was completely masked by shock and adrenaline for about 15 mins, I just knew that I couldnt move by leg or get up and something felt loose, then after that wore off it was very painful. The bad part is that the pain affects your sleep for the first couple of weeks.

I bet. I tore my achilles once and everyone in the entire gym could hear the popping snap of the tendon. I got up and was limping, but my friends talked me into finishing the game cuz there were only a few points left in the last game of the night. So, I hopped around for another 15 minutes. It was a crazy thing to do. But, it hurt much worse the next day than when it happened.

That Jeremy Lin injury was brutal too. He was in shock. Not a good start for the league.

So Phoenix is really embracing this tank thing. Down 118-60 with 6 mins left in their home opener vs the CJ McCollum less Blazers.

True that, but I’d be shocked if they didn’t have him loaded with pain meds asap

We got the W, Mavs lost to one of the worst teams in the league.

I just re-watched the game and the main thing that stuck out to me was how noticeable Isaac’s defensive impact was. At the end of last season, these were the games where we lost because we had no competant bench players outside of Biz and Ross. Isaac is immediately making our team better, his offensive putback in the 4th was the loudest I heard the stadium all night.

Dennis Smith Jr., Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Hassan Whiteside...all amazing! all lost! (I'm good). We're nowhere near contending but I like the depth of B to B+ guys on this team. Definitely progressing.
